Allure of the Seas
Did anybody else see Paul Merton's programme, (Paul Merton: World's Biggest Cruise Ship, Channel 5, 20.00) last night on Allure of the Seas?
I had always been curious to see what these huge ships of RCI's were like. They really are a different concept for cruising but was I impressed. Not for me. With 6000 passengers onboard it looked crowded and more akin to a shopping mall on water. At one point Merton remarked that he had hardly seen the sea as everything was enclosed within the ship. I got the impression if you rocked The Trafford Centre/Bluewater/Cheshire Oaks etc you would be getting a similar experience. It all looked very glitzy in a brash way but I doubt we will be trying her.
However I suggest 6000+ others would disagree.

I don't know. I hadn't seen it before but then, I'm not a big TV watcher so it may well have been a repeat. There was one on Royal Princess.

I thought that David, I didn't see it last night but I seem to recall seeing something a while ago which featured Paul Merton, it also compared to what Foxy has said about it appearing very crowded.
Not for me either although I imagine families would love it as lots to do.

Re: Allure of the Seas
The only RCI ship I sailed on was the Brilliance of the Seas - much smaller than the Allure - and they had a belly flop contest on thereDark Knight wrote:it's a repeat
the belly flop contest summed it up for me
I thought it was awful - so embarrassing - the winner was a Welsh pastor who was travelling with his flock No seriously he was part of a family party and they loved RCI - takes all sorts I suppose.
