CANARY ISLANDS TRIPS
Just booked our first cruise to the Canaries!
Can anyone recommend trips for Ferrol, Agadir, Lanzarote, La Gomera & La Palma?
Many thanks,
JillD

Re: CANARY ISLANDS TRIPS
In Lanzarote I'd recommend something which includes the volcanic landscapes on the island, and the forested area of La Gomera is lovely.

As per Merv plus Santiago De Compostela, Pontevedra or/and Lugo from Ferrol and either an easy walk-a-bout with lunch in (at) La Palma else a full tour of this beautiful and dramatic Island.
Keep smiling, it's good for your well being

La Palma is a lovely small town to just wander up and down the main street and easily diy. There are market stalls to look at and plenty of café restaurants for food etc.

Agadir - we went on a trip to the souk and stopped at a restaurant for morrocan tea and snacks. The countryside is quite bleak but interesting with goats in trees etc. Definitely book a trip here as you would not want to diy.
Be careful in the souk of pickpockets as well.

Hi Jill, we did this cruise and can highly recommend The Highlights of Palma excursion run by P & O . It takes you to the national park La Caldera de Taburiente (I may have got that a bit wrong but you would recognise the name anyway) . We were driven high into the mountains and walked with a guide for 45mins. It's a bit rough underfoot but we are retired and managed it perfectly well. We appeared to be walking above the clouds through the most stunning scenery, and as we were celebrating our 45th wedding anniversary it will always be pretty memorable for us. I think there were a couple of other stops en route for tastings etc., but the highlight was definitely the National Park. Do try and go.

A quick echo of Bunion's recommendation for the caldera walk at La Palma. Fabulous! Take a windcheater and scarf

Don't fancy any of the excursions in Tenerife so can you easily go ashore and look around the town, and is there anything to see by doing your own thing?

There is plenty to do DIY. Check out the Ports of Call document in the Ports of Call section.

It tends to be a bit cooler and wetter up North where the ship will berth. If it is like that when you dock, then it's a short(ish) walk to the main bus terminal where you can catch an express bus to, say, Las Americas in the South where it will probably be warm and sunny. It will take less than an hour, you will see a bit more of the island and the cost is minimal.
