Re: Ambition
We are generally snappy dressers anyway Ray.
Mrs Barney had a ladies fashion shop until she sold it in June.
I haven’t bought anything for myself for years.
She buys everything for me and she knows her stuff.
I’m happy to make the effort

What amuses me about formal dress (and we Iove it by the way) is that us blokes happily dress up pretty much identically in our DJs but if a lady spots another among the 2,000 (or whatever) passengers wearing the same dress the evening is ruined.

The other thing also, Merv, is the remarks like, oh, I saw that dress in such and such store, and , look at that dress that lady has on, I almost bought that one, now seeing it on her I may go back, and if the shop still has it I think I'll buy it.
Then it's the shoes and bag/ clutch that will need purchasing to go with the dress.

My fear is when SWMBO says " Wasn't that a beautiful dress that lady opposite was wearing, lovely colour?"Ray B wrote: ↑19 Feb 2024, 12:05The other thing also, Merv, is the remarks like, oh, I saw that dress in such and such store, and , look at that dress that lady has on, I almost bought that one, now seeing it on her I may go back, and if the shop still has it I think I'll buy it.

Me: "Errrr...yes. Very nice ". (Which lady, which dress, clueless!!)
Ladles have a 6th sense and can remember what everyone was wearing. It doesn't seem to be a man thing apart from Keefy.

Re: Ambition
Guys, you literally have no idea.
Most ladies have a wardrobe.
A lucky few have more than one wardrobe.
Mrs Barney has a room.
You heard right.
Not a walk in wardrobe.
An entire double bedroom laid over to hanging space and shelves.
She had a local carpenter come in to fit it out.
We didn’t need four bedrooms apparently
Of course, she had to constantly wear the latest season in order to sell it.
Now she’s sold the business, the shock and horror of paying full retail hits home
Quite a few of the suppliers also did a mens range so she also bought for me at cost.
