Been and gone Merv, and won't be back either. These are just my personal opinions.
Click on my usual link to see the new livery.
Apart from new carpet through out, new paint job, new mattresses in the cabins I can't see where 30 million has been spent on what the Captain kept drumming into us was 'A New Ship') unless there was allot of behind the scenes changes. We haven't been on Aurora before but you know when something is new or not. I felt the ship had been sent out (as usual) before it was ready. New carpets everywhere and then you see large holes in the vinyl flooring around the covered pool area.
I have never been on such a cold ship in all my life. Apart from our cabin everywhere else was freezing. The bars weren't fully stocked and didn't have any draught beer. I mean ale beer, not that poncey lager stuff. We asked for advertised drinks from the drinks menu, nothing out of the ordinary, only to be told, nope not available. You felt like the poor relation and test Guinea pigs because you were only on a two nighter.
Our friends who we travelled with us had nothing but problems with their cabin. No hot water from the bath/shower, loo not working, safe not working. Ad you need a manual to work out the bath taps, that's when it's not falling to bits.
Yes, the food was good, miss the silver service though. And I can't remember having to queue every morning for a hot breakfast like I did here because the hot buffet was only one sided. You felt like you were back at school. Normally there are centre islands that can be attacked from both sides with the chef topping up when things get low.
So, all in all we were not impressed and wouldn't rush to sail on her again.
We loved Bruge though and would definitely return there.
