Re: Fred Olsen Brochure
I bet he milked it for all it's worth, pushing his CD's of 'Sing Along With Merv and Trish' and autographs for a tenner
I would

Silly boy. Though we did ask if he'd like us to sign his copy of course.

I must get in on this caper. There's obviously money to be made just from image royalties. And let's face it Merv, when it comes to looks they're going to choose me every time.

Re: Fred Olsen Brochure
Of course one did have an article printed in one of the P&O magazines - not the present one Moments, maybe the one before. It was in the edition that had Emma Thompson's picture on the front if anyone still had it. One had one's picture with one's husband (there was an officer in the picture but they erased him!) and details of all the excursions one had taken! It was a full page article too. What perks did we get for doing it? And I had to supply details of the excursions we'd done in the previous 5 years and what we thought of them! What did we get - Nothing! So Merv don't hold your breath! Not so much as a bottle of fizz on our next cruise. Someone on board the next cruise did come up to me and say I saw your picture - the magazine was on board at the time.

Several people have said we should ask for royalties. We've always said that firstly P&I or their contractor own the copyright on the picture not us and secondly that we're very flattered they use it.

Re: Fred Olsen Brochure
That may not be the case. Unless you signed a release form at the time then you may still own the copyright - but as with all these things it is a leagal minefield.Mervyn and Trish wrote: ↑13 Aug 2017, 15:37We've always said that firstly P&I or their contractor own the copyright on the picture not us and secondly that we're very flattered they use it.

It's a new merger between P & O and RCI. Didn't you get the memo?
