I think some of the interior looks very nice, VERY nice actually, but why oh why, do P&O insist on having so many variations of those awfully uncomfortable chairs?

Probably get them cheap because nobody else wants them :sarcasm:

Thanks for the images daib

From what I have seen she looks good. Not sure about the comfort level of the chairs up on deck.

Indeed, thanks for posting the photos.
I can't honestly say I am bowled over by what I have seen. To some extent it all looks rather contemporary to the extent of utilitarian so it will be interesting to hear what people say after they have been on her. QM2 had the wow factor, something I have yet to get with Britannia. For those who are booked on her I hope I am wrong.

Well I like her because she is so different. A completely different feel to all the other P&O ships I have been on. Someone on FB was complaining that she looked like a hotel. I wondered where he has been for the past year or so as P&O have been trumpeting the fact that the design team were hotel designers. So they have succeeded by the looks of it. My only problem is that I have to wait 8 month before I can try her out.

I'm not worried David.

I never understood the fuss about the Ventura pre-maiden.

If my chair's got a wonky leg or my toilet's not working I'd rather someone else found out first!

But if someone who is aboard before me could just leave my towel on a sunbed please........

I think you may find that not everyone's cruising world revolves round Pando and they don't spend their time scouring the web for the tinniest morsel of info on the latest ship, as Merv is happy to point out, there are LOTS of other lines available.
and the bloke who said it looked like a hotel was right, it does look like a hotel , a great big floating one

true Merv
but by their own admission a floating hotel, non the less, hardly the "traditional" cruise offered by Pando
cant wait for the complaints from the "traditional, right sort of cruisers" about how tacky it is and how it is not like ( insert name of old ship here) and it is full of the wrong type of cruiser
Warners at sea?? as it is a bit too plush to be Butlins

I rather like the modern contemporary look.

I don't think the designers can win really - if they blinged it up for the 'wow' factor, there'd be a load of lemon suckers saying 'oh, far too glitzy for me'.

I'm just looking forward to seeing it all for myself - less than three weeks to go now!

PS, who was that person sitting in MY chair???

The same could be said about any cruise line and any cruise ship depending upon what our own experiences and expectations are. Having tried other cruise lines I have found one which matches what I want. However I doubt Britannia will be for me but good luck to those who will find she fulfils everything they want from a cruise ship. I am not saying my opinion is right or wrong, just different.
Let's face it we could categorise every cruise ship in every cruise line under terms such as posh, traditional, contemporary, , floating hotel, casual, right down to floating gin palace. The clever bit is in finding the cruise line and ship which suits YOU. After that it doesn't matter what everybody else thinks.
Britannia, from what I have seen and heard, does not 'float my boat' (sorry for the pun) but I feel sure there will be many for whom she is the ultimate. I think the phrase is 'horses for courses'.
Meanwhile I am looking forward to hearing reviews of her and seeing more photos and video clips.

Whilst accepting one shouldn't judge something before having tried it...however, having looked at the photos daib has kindly posted l can't help thinking this ship will lack atmosphere. It would appear that the designers have succeeded in creating something that has the look of a very contemporary hotel, which l dare say will appeal to some but leave others pondering whether or not they might just as well booked a stay at the Hilton. For me the ship looks far to clinical, designed to accomidate far too may passngers and lacking in the warmth of a traditional cruise liner.

Not for me thank you...but wish all who sail on her a very enjoyable time.

Regards

OL

Or in the case of some cruisers, you can't please some of the people any of the time!!

For my part, I quite like it.

Will I sail on her?

As they say, if the price is right, come on down!

That's for posting Dai

Quite right. And the cruise market would be very strange if we were all fighting to book the same ship. There are no right answers and no invalid opinions.
