Onboard future cruise deposit
Is it worth doing. We will be getting a call from P&O sometime this week asking if we want to put a future cruise deposit down. You get double the onboard spend by taking up the offer. We are looking at a 12 night Fjords cruise in 2018.
Any advice welcome.

Re: Onboard future cruise deposit
If you definitely intend to book a P&O cruise within the 12 month validity period of the FCD, then really its a no brainer. But do remember they are time limited and non refundable.

Yes, as Towny says if you're definitely planning a P&O cruise within the time limit, which I think is book within 12 months, what's not to like?

Re: Onboard future cruise deposit
Coincidentally Stephen I did exactly the same as you, I celebrated my birthday with a break in Southampton and did a ships visit (Britannia) where I took up the offer of extra onboard credit per person in return for a £50 per person deposit. We used the deposit for our next cruise E625 and received the extra onboard credit as promised, its a no brainer mate if you intend to cruise in the near future.
Don't forget that although the deal has a time limit of 12 months the cruise you book can be much later for example if you had paid the deposit in November 2015 you could book a 2018 cruise this month.
Get in there bruv.

Yes, we do it all the time too, but if you book a future cruise whilst on board you also get the same, and sometimes better, deals

Re: Onboard future cruise deposit
Just waiting for the call, whenever that'll be. This week, next, who knows.
We have of course heard of future cruise deposits but never really thought much about it. We could have paid the deposit on-board, but as this deposit method was all knew to us and we hadn't actually thought about a definite booking we thought we'd mull it over, especially as they give you the option of filling out a card so they can contact us at a later date to see if we wish to go ahead.
But yes, we will go for it, and as I mentioned in my opening post we are looking at R808 for 2018. Never done the Fyords.

Re: Onboard future cruise deposit
Stephen, if you are definitely going to book this cruise, then I would go ahead ASAP and get it booked before the end of Nov. and you will get at least 10% off the brochure price and only pay a 5% deposit. If you leave it until Dec then you pay full (possibly increased) price and have to pay 15% deposit.Stephen wrote:Just waiting for the call, whenever that'll be. This week, next, who knows.

I'm not fully sure how the deposit bit works apart from it gives you double onboard credit. Does it act AS the full deposit or is it deducted off the full deposit when you book

Re: Onboard future cruise deposit
It gets deducted from the amount of the deposit, unless there is a special offer, which I never see when I book with P&O.

Re: Onboard future cruise deposit
Would I still get the double onboard credit and the current offer of 10% off the booking price if booked before 30th November?

It works with other offers, or at least it did when we did it. So yes if that still holds

If you carry on with all these offers P&O will be paying you to cruise

Every little helps David. If it's there to be had I'll take it
I think R808 is off though, too expensive. But we have our eyes on a couple of others and will still go ahead with the future cruise deposit.

Hi Stephen, if you pay £50 per person now that £100 comes off the full deposit when booking.Stephen wrote:RayRaybosailor wrote:Coincidentally Stephen I did exactly the same as you, I celebrated my birthday with a break in Southampton and did a ships visit (Britannia) where I took up the offer of extra onboard credit per person in return for a £50 per person deposit.
