It's not something you'd expect to see on your way to the bingo.
Tbh when you board a ship you never know who is boarding with you. I wonder if he was hoping she would drop into the sea never to be seen again. However I would think the incident would be covered by CCTV onboard anyway.

He was probably spending too much in the casino, she got the hump, a row followed well into the night, and the rest is history.
