I have just realised Brittania is perfectly designed for most PandO passengers, as their lifts don't go all the way to the top ,either

Crikey, that was like a joke, but without the funny bit.Dark Knight wrote:I have just realised Brittania is perfectly designed for most PandO passengers, as their lifts don't go all the way to the top ,either

At least it keeps the upper decks quiet for the more nimble among us

Have been looking at the 2 Mein Schiffs, they lookvery nice with lots of Balconies and very smart interiors/cabins, if Thomson dont do anything drastic with them i would certainly consider them.

You could do far worse Screwy, they were both Celebrity ships and combined with Thomson's superior service to P&O they could well be onto a winner.screwy wrote:Have been looking at the 2 Mein Schiffs, they lookvery nice with lots of Balconies and very smart interiors/cabins, if Thomson dont do anything drastic with them i would certainly consider them.

Our first cruise was on the Thomson 'Topaz' an old Riveted rust bucket but the service, food and entertainment was excellent.

We're put off Thomson by their "rust buckets" but if they get some modern ships, with some balcony cabins, we could be tempted if the itinerary and price were right.

A gang of my co workers went on an all inclusive cruise on the Topaz and almost drunk her dryscrewy wrote:Our first cruise was on the Thomson 'Topaz' an old Riveted rust bucket but the service, food and entertainment was excellent.
I've been on several Thomson ships and yes they do creak a bit but I agree the food, service and entertainment are good and one of the best itineraries they did was the Red Sea cruises - Petra, Wadi Rum, the Pyramids, Cairo Museum - chaotic but worth it to see the Tutenkhamun mask - just some of the highlights - I would certainly sail on their ships if the itinerary was right.

Re: Two more "New" ships for Thomson
Thomson need to be careful as to where they position themselves in the UK cruise market, already some comments have been made about the prices on the "new" discovery ship increasing dramatically.
Thomson have as loyal a following as nay cruise line and that like PandO serves them well but if the prices rise to sharply then people will look at other lines. Conversely if Thomson up their game and offer newer ships at decent prices, they may then take passengers from other lines?
