Day 12
Curacao
after a quick breakfast in the MDR, we were off on a beach trip via a catamaran, we picked the boat at the dock next to our boat and set of for the Kabana beach resort..........O M G :o :o
Included in the fare was entrance and the cost of a sunbed for the day, we got 2 really nice beds under a palm tree cabana and settled down for the duration of the trip, I hired a mask, snorkle and fins and off I went for an hour swimming around the man made reef, for me this was heaven, there were hundreds and hundreds of tropical fish of all shapoes and sizes, from tiny white fish to blue fish the size of my forearm, after the first swim, I got back to find that the waitress had been and a drink had arrived, we decided to stay at thr resort well past the return time and told the rep we would make our own way back, no problem she said and we settled down to some sunbathing and another 45 mins swimming for me, this time I got under the pier and out past the end of the reef, to find the sea bottom had vanished and I was in hundreds of feet of water, the marine life was amazing and I almost lost track of time
At about 2,30 we decided to eat in the reataurant on the beach, fearing the worst we had a credit card handy. The food was superb, I had a steak sandwich, 10 gambas prawns and a proper dutch pancake washed down with a few beers, Lady D being much kmore civilised had a Ceaser salad and a sprite :D, I was expecting this to cost about the same as the cost of the excursion, but no, only £40, which given the standard of the food was like robbing the crown jewels in broad daylight and getting off with it, I cannot recommend this place highly enough
We set off back to to town and tried to find a cab but with no luck, so we ducked into a very posh casino resort and asked the desk clerk, where we could get a cab, "no proble2 says he "sit down adn get a drink, I will sort one out for you" 10 minutes later the taxi arrived to take us back to the swing bridge, fare already sorted and off we went,
We were dropped off right at the foot of the swing bridge in town and we wandered across it back to the boat.
The sail out under the road bridge and past the resort hotels reminded me of Lisbon for some reason?
After a wash and brush up we went off for a pre prandial prandial, or a drink as it is commonly known before dinner in the MDR, usual good food and company, we then headed of to the theatre for the Andrew Lloyd Weber tribute show, as you would expect all the fave's were in there plus a few from Jesus Christ Superstar.
Afew more coaktails and off to bed, after a truly wonderful day

Day 13
Sea Day
the usual sea day stuff today
breakfast in the Lido a bit iof sunbathing
started to do some packing
afternoon tea
Dinner in the MDR
show lounge to watch the band
and the piano bar for a nightcap
I really struggle on sea days as I am not a great one for lying on a sunbed all day, so spend most of it inside in one of the lounges reading and drinking

Day 14
Grenada
This is the last port of the trip before we return to Barbados to go home
Up early again , so early breakfast and off out for a walk
we found a friend called Randy who took us for a guided tour of the port and the town and give us a quite interesting history lesson about the hurricanes and the communist take over of the island before the US turned up and liberarted them, so we had a 3 hour walking tour with Randy for $20 which included meeting his momma,
After our friend had left we found a nice bar on the harbour and had a couple of drinks whilst watching the world go by
back mon board for a bit more packing and sorting out as the cases had to be out by 11.00pm
Dinner in the MDR anda couple of beers in the lounge and off for an ealry night, given the flight tomorrow

Day 15
Going home
Left the cabin at 9.00 and went to the MDR for a late breakfast and then went to the Argo lounge to sit down and read for a bit before getting off
left the ship at 2.00pm to go to the airport, check in very smooth ,. no issues and boarded on time
Landed at 04.45 at a freezzing cold Gatwick airport, after another 8 hr flight
same extra legroom seats as on the way out but they were not so good on the night flight back as they were too near the toilets and the inflight yoga class
Nihil Obstat

Many thanks for posting, DK, it's great to hear of your adventures. The Caribbean is 4hours behind the UK so if you normally get up at 08:00 then it's no surprise that you woke up at 04:00.
