Ventura N709
Well, only 4 weeks to go before OH and I are off on our next cruise - 17 nights to the Greek Islands.
This is virtually the same as we did last year on Azura, except that we are stopping at Souda Bay/Chania in Crete instead of Zakynthos this time.
Time to start shoe-counting

I wish I was shoe counting, Michele. although I suppose I am in a way - but counting down not up . I am having to do the opposite to you for our 24 night cruise on Oceana in a couple of weeks time as the return to England involves flying back from Malta. I get the shoes out and then end up putting them back in the wardrobe because of having to keep the weight down. It takes all the fun out of the holiday.
I say go for it, Michele, and take as many shoes as you can squeeze in, a girl can never have too many. Have a lovely holiday.

Hi Michelle - did you do this cruise at the same time of year? I am wondering what the weather will be like? Hoping for some sun when we get to the islands!MicheleW wrote: ↑12 Mar 2017, 12:48Well, only 4 weeks to go before OH and I are off on our next cruise - 17 nights to the Greek Islands.

Hi Ess001,
Yes, we did this cruise at exactly the same time of year. We embarked Azura on 8th April last year. The weather wasn't very good for the first couple of days, but once we got round into the Med. it was absolutely fantastic. I'm really hoping that it will be similar again.

Only 2 weeks to go!
Spare room looks like a shoe shop Final count looks like it will be the same as last year - 17 pairs (that's 34 by my reckoning QB).
Weather in Greece looks to be warming up nicely.
Getting a bit excited now.

Erm - that's a pair for every night. Does that include your day shoes?
Afraid it's totally beyond my comprehension - how is Venus these days, by the way ?!

Yes, 17 pairs includes flat comfortable shoes for daytime and killer heels for the evening.
Who is Venus? All sounds a bit greek to me, but I'm sure she's 'armless enough.

One pair of flats. 16.pairs of heels?
I don't own that many pairs of shoes, even including several pairs of P&O slippers!

Well, that's all 17 pairs of shoes (9 pairs killer heels + 8 pairs flat) packed along with almost everything else. Will do the suit carriers at some point tomorrow. I'm working from midday until about 9.00pm so won't have too much time. Have got to pack for the dogs' holiday too at some point.
Then roll on Sunday morning and once we've dropped the dog off, it's Southampton here we come!

Michelle, you are a girl after my own heart! I once went on a 23 night cruise with ...23 pairs of shoes. I used to have problems with my feet swelling up on board, so I took some spare pairs in case. Have a great cruise!!

Thanks very much Aileen. I could easily take more pairs, but we usually do self-disembarkation, so we have to make sure we can carry everything ourselves!
Weather looking good for the Bay of Biscay for the next few days which is a nice bonus!
Michele
PS. My mum's name is Aileen - don't see too many - do you get called Eileen a lot? Mum does.

Self disembarkation eh? Should we open a book on who has to carry the case full of shoes?
