Hope you're not affected by the storm and have a good cruise. Please check out its suitability for wheelchair users, and indeed whether there are many users on board.Mervyn and Trish wrote: ↑06 Feb 2020, 08:24

Will do. I might not be best placed to judge the first but I'll do my best (I guess lift behaviour is a good start!) and can certainly do the second.towny44 wrote: ↑06 Feb 2020, 09:02Hope you're not affected by the storm and have a good cruise. Cruises to Rutland are in very short supply! Ask Stephen. He tried to book one on my recommendation.Manoverboard wrote: ↑06 Feb 2020, 09:43Hail showers are forecast for Wednesday but I confess to preferring Rouen to Rutland … just saying

Re: Last One to Post Wins
The main points regarding W/c suitability are, more solid floors in the major public areas, sufficient space between tables in bars and restaurants for w/c access, separate disabled public toilets and auto doors out onto the open decks.Mervyn and Trish wrote: ↑06 Feb 2020, 12:23Will do. Wink wink, nudge nudge, know what you Merv.
Photos, nice pictures, snap snap, say no more. A wink is as good as a nod to a blind man.

Re: Last One to Post Wins
A few things already from the booklet we've been sent pre-boarding. You may or may not already know these and it may or may not be different from other lines.
Crew are not able to provide wheelchairs or assist wheelchair users round the vessel. It's not clear whether that applies to assistance on steep gangways. Users must provide their own wheelchair and declare it at time of booking. Wheelchairs only permitted if booked into adapted cabins. I don't know how many of those there are.
They have a step-over test for tender users but it does not apply to wheelchair users. Tenders are wheelchair accessible and they have ramps. But they cannot guarantee ports have safe wheelchair landing points and if not wheelchairs will not be permitted on tenders.

Lovely here too. Just plastering a very small ceiling, to cover the textured coating, for the second time. The first attempt fell off when I tried to apply the second coat.
"Oh bother", I said.

One cannot plaster over Artex, it has to be scraped off first …. just saying

Re: Last One to Post Wins
I will …… next time. It's only that this ceiling is tiny. Piece of cake I said.
It's not Artex, just fine sandy textured DIY stuff I put on years ago. And one can if it's prepared properly**. Our tradesmen have done four larger ones previously.Manoverboard wrote: ↑07 Feb 2020, 13:39One cannot plaster over Artex, it has to be scraped off first …. just saying
** There may be a small clue there!
