If you want to see "life" I highly recommend a weekend booze cruise ! On ours there were at least 5 large hen parties. Plenty of drinking but no "offensive drunks" and everyone seemed happy and jolly. We went into Southampton on turnaround day and when we returned, I thought we had boarded the wrong ship, it was so quiet !

Been there, done it, at least twice. Can be quite amusing. I remember our last one, all the hens were parading across the deck in their outfits when one lad from a group next to us called out in his East London accent, 'OY OY GIRLS, OVER ER'E IF YOU WANT A GOOD TIME'. Needless to say they ignored him.

Laugh, I nearly got the next round in.......nearly. Let's not get silly

We are boarding Arcadia from the QE 2 terminal.
Are the CPS parking arrangements the same. I assume it is but you never know.

Basically the same arrangements but the entrance id a bit confusing if you don't know. You drive into what seems like a multi-storey car park then you have to go to the end by the terminal entrance to offload your bags then drive to the other end to hand over to CPS before walking back to the terminal entrance. The 2 or 3 times I have been there, there was no one to tell you that - all a bit trial and error

At the sailaway party from Southampton one hefty bride-to-be did a fantastic dance to Uptown Funk around one of the jacuzzis including a bit of "pole dancing" around the handrails. There were four lads in the jacuzzi at the time and they just did not know where to put their faces (their tongues were pretty close to the water though !!)

You're Welsh, Blod, you can do anything ! Anyways, after seeing those hen parties on a 3-nighter.......!!

Just composing a 3-page whinge to P&O (true Goldie stuff !). We had "essential maintenance" going on right under our cabin all last week. It was tolerable until Friday when the banging, drilling and vibration was unbearable. About 10 cabins around us were rioting all afternoon !

I know they have to do maintenance but no one had bothered to give us advance notification (apparently even reception and housekeeping were not told it would be happening). Had we known, we could have made other arrangements and accepted it. In the event, no senior officer could be bothered to speak to us or even offer an apology and they deputy captain reputedly said "they will just have to put up with it - it will end when we sail"!

And no, it's not about compo (although we did accept a tidy sum off our on-board account) but they just need to learn a bit of good old fashioned customer service.

OK, I'll add a bit about the cabin steward badgering us about his tips - that might top up the compo pot !!
