Re: The Children's Off Topic Thread
Had a couple of cans of Grolsch lager the other day that had been lurking in the fridge. What a wonderful beer. But can you get it in the U.K. any more, nope.
Typical.
Typical.

Going by the amount of cars on the road you wouldn't think there was an epidemic still killing off people.

The old ones are the best Stephen although age is against me too - the ships will be empty without us golden oldies apart from school holidays

Many of you are sad because you have been unable to go on your cruise, Mobietta and I are perhaps even sadder because we didn't even have a cruise to look forward to that was subsequently cancelled ... just saying

Re: The Children's Off Topic Thread
We will be having our first social distance gathering later today with a couple of old friends. It's her birthday today and Mrs S is laying on a bit of a doo for her. No doubt a glass or three of something will be consumed. Should be interesting

We had our daughter and grand-daughters in the garden for the afternoon.
Some bloke called Cummings rang the doorbell too asking if we knew where the nearest castle Specsavers was.

I'd have said no but I think my neighbour Bernard Castle next door might know.

Re: The Children's Off Topic Thread
Just been chatting on FaceTime with my granddaughter - 17 today Such a darling girl - goodness knows when I’ll see her
She’s waiting for delivery of her new car but lessons and tests are of course not happening at the moment - she can however go out with her parents. She’s been on several “driving experiences” and has really enjoyed them but today can get out there on the road

A new car before she's even passed her test. Alright for some.

Very true Moby - me and the other grandparents have helped her The car is only a year old with less than 1000 miles on the clock!! It was purchased by a 95 year old man against the wishes of his family and within a few months he went into a home and the garage took the car back. They bought the car just as lockdown started and the garage was shut down so today they are delivering it - great excitement as you can imagine

Re: The Children's Off Topic Thread
Last year our grand daughter passed her test, albeit at the third attempt, and asked for a Mini. Daddy decided on the price to pay given the cost of insurance ( which the grand children have to pay themselves ) and related risk with a new driver. Hers was only a few years old but with very low mileage, the adult family members were ' invited to buy shares ‘.Jan Rosser wrote: ↑03 Jun 2020, 11:43Very true Moby - me and the other grandparents have helped her The car is only a year old with less than 1000 miles on the clock!! We chipped in of course and it was worth every penny just to watch her pretty face as she gave us a conducted tour of her new prize possession

This is the trouble with kids today. They never have to work for it, it's all given on a plate.
