Melsea's belated short cruise adventures E304 in Naples.

23 March Naples

A slower day today in that there was nothing to rush off for. I went to the Oasis Spa to book a special which today was a full body massage with a mini facial. Bill & I had breakfast then we went into town. We went in search of a sort of shopping arcade which has a spectacular glass roof. We stopped to have a hot drink which was a bit expensive to say the least. Afterwards we went for a walk along a pedestrianised pavement where there were plenty of shops to look in and it was here that seems to be the place for the locals to have a stroll and shop. The Italians love to shop. It was not long afterwards that Bill went back to the ship, I continued to look in the shops. I saw that there was an H&M shop which I went into and I tried on a couple of jackets which did not look right. I turned round and saw a completely different style jacket which I tried on and it was so right and I looked to see what I could put together with it when I saw a mannequin which had a good look. I gathered together a few items and tried them all on and I ended up buying the cream jacket, green trousers & a sequin top also a sleeveless blouse. Having bought the clothes I made my way back. I got back just before 2pm and we went to lunch at Cafe Jardins, we had a rather nice lunch too. One thing they are doing in Jardins at lunch time is a dish of the day and I have to say they have been excellent, I think they should do the same in Cafe Bordeaux on Aurora. At 3pm I had my spa appointment and I had a very nice massage & facial.
Tonight's dress code was Tropical. We went to the Yacht & Compass for a pre dinner drink. Dinner was absolutely delicious, in fact the meals on here are the best I have had, Oceana’s head chef has certainly done extremely well. Afterwards I went to the casino where I took £20 with me which I had to split into two tens as the slot machine wouldn't take a twenty pound note. I didn't have to play long before I was successful I then continued when the number 7 in a row came up, the money stacked up. At this point I decided to cash in. I ended up being £22 pounds up. Don’t think I’ll visit again for a few days as it’s never a good idea to go too often.
Well the next day was to be a sea day, at last a bit of a break before the next onslaught of ports, 3 in row this time. I had a fairly relaxing day catching up with my diary and listening to various podcast I have on my ipod. Tonights dress was Black Tie / Black & White, I like this one as its so nice to see the array of lovely outfits too.
Hope you are liking my usual ramblings and not being sent to sleep.. Next it’s Palma, Majorca..

I'm not sleeping melsea. We have never been into Naples so it was quite interesting to hear what you had to say about it.

What I neglected to mention is that Naples is the port that people go from to visit Pompeii, Capri, Sorrento and Mount Vesuvius all places I have visited at sometime or another in the past. All well worth visiting.

OBF
