Best Balcony For Arcadia World Cruise?

#1

Post by daveoc14 »

We are thinking about booking a balcony on the 2021 World Cruise that is just about to go on sale. We would appreciate any advice on good balconies, ones to avoid, best decks, port or starboard, in fact any balcony advice that will help us make a choice. Many thanks.

I think our last time was on E deck and that was great. Half in and half out of the sun.

Dave a cabin on the aft is fab for a larger balcony partially covered with great views leaving the ports. Our fav deck is B deck and have had B150, and B152 for world cruises. B169 and B 167 are the same.

Aft cabins on A deck are slightly larger but can get noise from the upper deck.
Aft cabins on C deck are slightly smaller as are the balconies and at present do not have the new sliding door balconies but may have by 2021.
Aft cabins on D deck are fully shaded by C deck but they are bigger cabins and balconies so if you are not bothered about the sun a good choice.
Aft cabins on E deck are fully open to the sun and very close to the sea and therefore can be quite noisy.

Whichever cabin you go for just have a wonderful time. It is an experience which we will never forget.

Sue is right thinking about it. E deck is full sun on arcadia. We loved it to Canaries and must admit I didn't find it too noisy.

Had one of those aft cabins one E deck a few years ago for a Baltic cruise, yes full sun.
Didn't find it noisy. Having the same again this September for a cruise to the Baltic.

Very popular cabins they often sell out first to those in the know.

Barney, that E deck aft cabin was great but rattled like a bugger when he put his foot down.

I wouldn't argue with that screwy. I remember one time when after slowing down for fog, Captain Sarah Breton had to get a lick on to get back to Southampton and the cabin did creak a fair bit. Still worth it though, in my opinion.

As already said aft is best we feel. We have had B, D and E deck and my favourite would be D. We found plenty of sun if near the rail, but yes fully covered. Having said that did from Hong Kong to Southampton on E deck and were very happy with that too.

Quick question

Can anyone remember what the drawer space is in the aft balcony cabins. It's a few years since I was in one of these and I can remember the small drawers besides the bed. Are their anynothers or is it just shelving in the wardrobes.

Thanks
Lindsey

Hi Lindsey,
Arcadia is the worst ship for drawer space in balcony cabins. Only drawers were by the bed and tiny. I had to leave a small case under the bed easily accessible to store underwear and swimwear.

If you go up to a mini suite there is loads of drawer space.

And if you go up to a full suite there is so much storage space that you won't know what to do with it!

What a shame I have already booked an aft balcony cabin for a Baltic cruise in September.
I just couldn't remember what drawer space the cabin offered.

Thanks for the replies.
