CPS Parking.
Thinking about booking Iona in October. Looked on CPS for the price. £243 for 2 weeks.! Last year I paid £160. What has caused this increase.?

Re: CPS Parking.
I think CPS raised all their prices recently. Don't know why and can't answer for other companies.

Re: CPS Parking.
On our cruise on 1st September, parking4cruises is over a hundred quid cheaper than CPS.
Easier to use as well with no queuing.

We're using Parking4Cruises for the first time for that very reason. We don't know what to expect but reviews look favourable.

Re: CPS Parking.
Just been looking at their website.
Section 4 on ‘how it works’ says the following:
———————————————-
4. Have a fantastic cruise!
Once the check in process is complete, you're free to head to your terminal and leave the rest to us! We'll park your vehicle at our secure facility while you're away.
All that's left for you to do is enjoy yourself, and have the holiday of a lifetime - all without any worries about your car.
—————————————————-
So my question is, how far away from the terminal is their secure car pound. Unlike CPS where your drop off is right next to the terminal I don’t fancy dragging cases for several hundred yards, or is there a shuttle service?

Re: CPS Parking.
With P4C you drive to the terminal and drop off your cases just as you would with CPS (you can also drop off any passengers if you want - especially if it is raining) then you drive to the short stay car park og the terminal that you are departing from hand you car over after having it photographed and then walk back the 100 yards to the terminal.
On return it is just the same as CPS that you make your way to your car which will be in the short stay car park - slightly less convenient by for £100+ I can cope that minor inconvenience.
One other plus is that it is far quicker - I have seen cars for CPS queuing when I have dropped off the cases that are still in the queue when I return to the terminal.

Re: CPS Parking.
What David said !
We pull in and drop off cases then drive to short stay, about 100 yards.
Check car in, photos, milage etc, then stroll back to the terminal.
Added miles is around four if my memory is correct, so their pound must be very close.
I’ve used them for about 15 years and never had any issues.
Easy on return as well.
Car is warmed up.

Re: CPS Parking.
What about luggage to car on return.
CPS it’s pick up luggage on trolley and wheel to car park over the road.

Re: CPS Parking.
Turn right to short stay car park instead of turning left for CPS.
It’s a similar distance.
You just walk to their banner and your car will be there.
If you google map the Ocean terminal, you’ll see how close the short stay is.
About 50 or 60 yards.
Mayflower is a little bit farther but not by much.

Re: CPS Parking.
Pleased to hear those comments. Leaving the security of CPS for something which was much cheaper left me with nagging doubts whether I had done the right thing but that sounds reassuring.
I also looked at something called Penguin Parking which I think is out at Marchwood. That sounded pretty reasonable but I didn't have any reviews hence no idea how good or reliable they were. The website sounded good but we turned them down because with a long journey north (out of bandit country!!! ) we didn't fancy hanging around the terminal waiting for a minibus to take us back to the car.
I hope on our next cruise we don't encounter the road closures and road works coming out of Southampton we met on our last cruise. It seemed no matter which way the satnav took us roads were closed and diversions just took us around the houses and in the end I just aimed for anywhere north just to get away. What a nightmare start to our journey. Having chilled out on the cruise I was a jibbering wreck by the time we got to Newbury
Next cruise is our second onboard Arvia. Having sorted out best places to go, best places to dine we are looking forward to it. As classic aficionados of main dining venues on Arcadia and Aurora we shall be giving them a miss on Arvia in favour of something more quiet and restful including the buffet after the masses have gone.

Re: CPS Parking.
I thought that was normal for getting out of Southampton. No matter how many times I have tried to get out of Southampton it has taken me ages going round in circles!

Re: CPS Parking.
No matter how many times we've been now, which is a fare few we still sometimes have the same problem getting to the docks. Take a wrong turn and your stuffed.
Coming home we normally just turn left out of the dock road onto the main drag and keep going until signs for M3 show up.

Re: CPS Parking.
Not sure about that cruise but if it is one of the typical seven nights then CPS may be a cheaper option. Last time I checked (and that was a while ago) the break even point was about 10 nights - it is all to do with the different pricing models.

Re: CPS Parking.
Indeed. Also got a booking at the Premier Inn North Swindon for £68 , so parking and hotel for less than CPS.!
