I don't recall having Nigel Travis as CD but I have heard very good reports about him from forum members.

Oh dear Terry you have drawn the short straw there but don't worry you won't see him unless it is topping up his tan on the deck. He is better known as Mr Invisable. However he is a very good administrator apparently. You will still have a fantastic cruise because he will be backed up by a great entertainment team who will make up for his short comings.

Have to agree with Sue, the worst we have ever had 'Nowhere Nigel' as he is know as by his team will be instantly recognizable by his tan! We had him on a 35 day cruise and was useless, I thought by now they would have 'repositioned' him after all the comments on the questionaires. But I'm sure you will have a great time as Sue says he will have a good team backing him up. Doreen.

Unfortunately I found him to be one of the rudest crew members I have ever come across, even to the point that his 'second in command' apologised for him .. as you say he will have a great entertainment team that will more than make up for his shortcomings.

Oh dear greenfish, please ignore my comment about hearing good reports about him from forum members - I think I might have mixed him up with someone else.

To be perfectly honest it does not make the slightest bit of difference to me who the CD is - but I have to admit that the aforementioned is not one of my favourites.

Re: cruise director or entertainment manager,Oceana
Agreed. We had him on Oceana and did find him a bit wooden and only usually seen to round off the entertainment in the theatre. However it made little difference to the entertainment on offer and no difference to our enjoyment. Don't worry about it.
It's all personal taste anyway. A lot of people rave about Leon St Croix but, apart from his astronomical talks, we didn't rate him but as long as the CD organises activities onboard it doesn't really matter who it is.

We are big fans of Neil Oliver. At the other end of the scale our least favourite (no names, no pack drill) left P&O to go to Cunard. Phew.
Oh, just remembered, we've booked QM2 for next year!

Isn't Leanne Hughie's daughter ?? I seem to think I've read that somewhere although it could of course be a different Leanne.

I'm not so keen on Nigel Travis, although we never saw much of him.
My particular favourites are Neil Oliver and Leon de Ste Croix.
Neil knows how to whip the crowd into a party frenzy at the sailaway, but these days I think Leon just has the edge - he makes me laugh more

Re: cruise director or entertainment manager,Oceana
We're not at all keen on Nigel Travis, only time we ever saw him was standing outside the theatre saying "Good evening" a couple of times. Neil Oliver is brilliant, really liked him. Tracey Clegg was good on Adonia last year. On these sort of posts nobody ever mentions Jon Bartram. He was CD on one of our cruises soon after he started with P&O and we were not very impressed at all, however a few years later we sailed with him again and found him to be a really nice guy.
