Cabin Allocated
We've had our cabin allocated for our upcoming cruise on 20th November on Aurora.
We got L130 which is on Lido deck.
We're very happy with the location of that, being a deck below the Crows Nest but not underneath and a deck about the gym, which we will both use on a daily basis.
Allocated 13.30 embarkation as well which is good for us, being not too far away.
I've managed to shift a stone since the knee replacement in May and my holiday clothes are fitting much better
That's just by cutting right down on bread/cakes etc and a good bit of regular exercise.
I went swimming twice yesterday, how good am I (smug) ????
We actually sail on my 60th so it will be Sindhu for dinner that evening with a bottle of bubbly.
It really is just around the corner now and having not a great year so far, it's very much needed.
Being self employed, there's always so much to tie up before we leave, but it's worth it once you get on board.

Enjoy your cruise. I originally wanted to go on that one as it's a music cruise with Kevin Whately as the host. Unfortunately some other things came up for those dates so I will be on Aurora just before you for 19 nights to the Med. Looking forward to it now less than 2 weeks to go.

He likes his music, does Kevin Whately. I met him in the bar at an Al Stewart concert a while back !

Happy Birthday wishes for 20th November, barney, and I'm sure you will have a super 60th birthday on the Aurora. We really enjoyed the ship - there is a really nice atmosphere. I hope you have Leon de St Croix as your Entertainments Manager - he is very funny with some really good jokes that make you laugh or groan out loud.

Re: Cabin Allocated
Cheers for your early best wishes guys.
Maureen, we've met Leon on a number of occasions and have always enjoyed his company.
I can't figure out why but he always seemed keener on chatting to my wife than me.
He attended a Masonic charity do on Arcadia a few years back and was great entertainment.
He told us that he was giving up a life at sea, but after a couple years away, he's back.
Colin, enjoy your cruise and try to leave her in good condition for us.

Have a great time Barney, and in your turn please leave Aurora in a good condition for us - we are on her on 6th December! Can't wait. Hoping she'll have some Christmas decorations in place, if not at the beginning of our cruise then during it - we are off to the Christmas markets.

Re: Cabin Allocated
They do the decorations in Southampton, Carole, and use an external contractor so they certainly won't be decorating the ship during your cruise. I would imagine that, since you are doing the Christmas Markets, they will decorate the ship on the 6th for you. Afraid you won't have the Gingerbread Village, though. That is still done in-house and the pastry chefs usually build that overnight on or around the 20th December, although they will have been creating it behind the scenes for weeks.CaroleF wrote:Have a great time Barney, and in your turn please leave Aurora in a good condition for us - we are on her on 6th December!
