Excursion then dropped at the airport

Has anyone done one of the excursions where it ends with being dropped off at the airport for the flight home? I know some people have done this in Barbados. We are thinking of doing the one in Valetta. Our flight home doesn't depart until 18.55 so that's a long day so we thought maybe this tour may be good to pass some of the hours. It leaves at 14.00hrs and then drops us at the airport at 17.00 hrs. Has anyone done this excursion? We thought we'd spend the morning on the ship then go for a leisurely lunch in the MDR before then leaving on the excursion. According to the blurb about this trip on the Cruise Personaliser our flight is one of the ones that is mentioned it being aimed at.

Any thoughts welcome.

Timings sound a bit tight to me Carole, keeping in mind the time you need to be at the airport before your flight, then checking in and getting to the gate. If there is a delay getting to the airport for whatever reason I can't see the flight waiting like the ship does.

If it is a P&O excursion and a P&O charter flight then I would have thought there would be no problem.

The simple answer is, if in doubt check with P&O.

We have considered these excursions but decided against it … not because of any thoughts about missing the flight nor losing ones luggage cos the coach had been broken into in the not too secure coach park etc but we simply did not care / dare to be walking around downtown Peruga market or wherever attempting to conceal the entire contents of our safe about our personage.
