I'm a drink on board and go ashore without any money sort of person Cubie. I certainly don't bother to acquire any Norwegian currency and only take a few Euros and my credit card for emergencies.

Great review. We are doing a Baltic cruise in June and it's got me looking forward to it more than I already was.

One good thing about doing a back-to-back - you get two free half bottles of Champagne, four free sailaway glasses, four pairs of slippers and a plate of free hand-made choccies on turnaround day!

it was a really good cruise , with lots to see and do, however St Petersburg is full on and despite what people have said, doing a private tour does not give you much benefit over the ship ones, as a lot of the venues keep you moving and impose a time limit on your stay
