I waxed my entire body, put on my lycra shorts and running spikes.
Starting blocks checked and checked again. Crouched in position, waiting for the signal.
I hear it and spring from the blocks like a gazelle, sprinting as if my life depended on it.
"This is going to be a personal best" I think to myself as I reach the end of the hallway and see the card fall from the letter box and the b*stard Royal Mail driver pulling away with my parcel on his lap.
