An absolutely brilliant film  Filled with humour and sadness. Maggie Smith was superb

We are considering this film, but the OH isn't fond of Alan Bennet so I am not sure. We did go to see the Steve Jobs film and were very disappointed. I do not doubt the excellence of Maggie of course.

If you don't like Alan Bennet, don't go; it's very Alan Bennet!

I thought it was superb

As long as there is not much of his poilitics on display I imagine it should be good.

I do like Alan Bennet as a playwright and Maggie Smith as an actress so I think I'd love this film. I'll probably get it on DVD.

No idea why but there are two versions, one more ' complete ' than the other it would appear, on Kindle should anybody wish to read the book ... lots of reviews on the cheaper version ...

The Kindle versions
