The daft thing is it costs less than £200 to hire a brass band for a full evening. So how much for half an hour on a quayside?

And with 2000 passengers on a mid size ship that's 10p a passenger! A lot of the other small cuts, like shabby biscuits, only save pennies too. In the context of a typical cruise fare it's peanuts. So why do it? Would we really notice if they put fares up by £5 each and gave us the band, biscuits and after dinner chocolates back?
Well put Merv. This is my feeling exactly. Add £5 to the base fare and we could have many of the finer details of cruising which helped to make a cruise something quite memorable and special, especially for those new to cruising.

I miss dinner announcements.
"Ding Dong - Dinner is now being served in the Meridian Restaurant"
That didn't cost anything

"and we hope you have a delightful/exceptional/fantastic/glorious etc evening"
Small touches which made a difference.

I wish to say thank you so much for all of your kind words and encouragement. I did pay the Balance.

I know it is not going to be easy as I will see Michael around every corner. I truly know he would want me to try (and no, I am not quoting half of the Comedians on board who make quips about this type of situation).

I just have to get myself motivated now. I know I will be alright once I am on board, but the queuing to get into the Terminal is my worst concern, being among couples.

Thank you all once again

The last time we had a band to send us off was, IIRC, March 2013 - but we left to the skirl o' the pipes!

Yes, a pipe band - and they'd had to travel all the way south..................................................from Reading!

Oh sorry, seem to have arrived on this thread by mistake. I assumed from the title it was where to find the picture of Onelife in the buff which he threatened elsewhere!
