P&O Website problem

#1

Post by Mervyn and Trish »

Is anyone else having trouble logging into their P&O account from the Edge Browser?

I used to have no trouble but I've recently had some PC updates and now when I try to log in I get a message saying "Login Failure".

I can log in okay using Firefox but that's not my favoured Browser for everyday use. And using Chrome on my tablet.

Is it just me of have Microsoft buggered it up on the update.... again!!!!

No idea as I do not use MS Edge (except when I have to when testing something)

It would not surprise me that Edge does not work as it is the most non standard browser that MS have ever developed - and that is saying something after all of the IE incarnations.

I have recently started using Vivaldi and am pleased with it so far. Will see how I get on with logging into my P&O account.

I tried to access my account to the the GDPR stuff a couple of days ago. Logged inok ( but itwon't remember my details so have to re log in each time despite clicking /remember me') Once logged in and starting to fill in the details, the site wouldn't recognise my postcode nor my URN.
I thought it might be Edge, so tried on IE - and after half an hour of faffing , ony got part way in. Gave up in disgust and rang them and did it that way.

So it might be them, not you

That's how mine started! Then when I tried to get back in it wouldn't let me at all. Odd that I can get in from other places or with other browser. And it didn't happen before so it is either a Browser update or a P&O problem. That would be a first wouldn't it! P&O IT problem.

Having said that I've been trying to look at some stuff on the SAGA site and that isn't working on any browser!

I've emailed P&O to ask if they are aware of any issue. I'll await their reply with interest.

They could Moby. But it's not the browser that comes with Windows 10, which I use every day and works perfectly well with every other site I use.

I have now changed my password and completed the DP stuff for me and for Trish using Firefox, my backup browser.

But I still can't access either account from Edge, despite doing all the usual clearing cookies stuff.

So clearly the problem is with the P&O site, which has been amended to do all this DP stuff, which is where the problem started. And I'm not changing my browsing habits to suit them.

My next booking for 2019 is sorted. Gives them plenty of time to repair the website before I need to print my tickets.

I've got onto my P&O account with everything but Edge. And on to everything else but that account using Edge. So it's the combination that's lethal. I@m heavily suspecting that they screwed something up (technical term - David will confirm, though it is often spelled differently) when they added the bit to the website to do the new Data Protection stuff. No problem before then and it's accressing that bit that did it. Logged in okay, tried to do the DP stuff. It claimed my UPN didn't exist (my Peninsular number) then threw me out and won't let me back. Deffo a P&O browser/compatibility problem. You really would think they'd test these things will all common browsers before rolling them out.

I get that Moby. But I don't want to. I'm not going to change my Browser again just because P&O IT are a load of prize chumps. And equally because I stopped using IE after it gave me endless grief.

I almost forgot to mention our annual week down in the depths of rural Devon then a week over in Spain at a family members property this summer. It's a hard life ;)
