Drinks Packages are Back
Just been announced that the P&O drinks packages are being rolled out across the fleet this year
https://www.pocruises.com/drinks/#heading2
Of no interest to us at all. On our last cruise I kept a detailed list of all the drinks we had (sad I know) and even switching to only having drinks that are in the package we would be nowhere near breaking even.
Just have to watch that bar prices don't go up.

Yes but you can have up to 15 alchoholic drinks a day but they wont serve anyone who is intoxicated!

Same here David. We deny ourselves nothing but still get nowhere near 80 quid a day on average. Port days you're off ship for hours anyway. This is for the hardcore.
Empty vessels .. and all that

we have purchased the soft drinks card on our last few cruises, we shared it between us and it worked out good value, we also had a costa coffee card and that was all we used for the cruise. cheap dates!! we don't drink alcohol!

Re: Drinks Packages are Back
I only have one alcoholic drink per day on holiday - a pre dinner cocktail - at home I seldom drink alcohol, maybe one drink once a month. I can’t drink fizzy drinks or coffee, don’t like tea, so none for of these packages are worth it for me. Even my husband, who drinks coffee and buys a bottle of wine each third day would never drink £40 worth in a day.

No interest to us either, no way do we spend that much on alcohol. I might have one glass of wine with dinner, John usually the same. Occasionally we may buy a bottle of wine but that will last us two nights. Before dinner I might have a cocktail or a gin and tonic, John usually just a tonic water. One comment I did read was that someone posted that her husband would consider having the package but she was on medication and couldn't drink so her husband couldn't buy the package as both people in the cabin must buy it. P&O said they had responded by private message. I'm amazed they don't seem to have altered the package after the original trial, according to passengers wasn't popular.

Considering P&O and Cunard always seem to have meeting for “Friends of Bill” which suggests more than a few recovering alcoholics travel with them, it seems bizarre that they insist each passenger in the cabin must buy the package. People have all sorts of reasons for abstaining, but just because they abstain, doesn’t mean their partner does.

From what I understand this is the "Carnival" package - it is almost identical to the one on Princess. Using one package saves multiple software packages.

No interest to us. We don't spend that much daily, and our spend includes trips, photos, drinks, casino, select dining etc.
