Does anyone know what it costs to renew your vowes on board?

Just done it on Oriana - paid for it last summer & it cost just under £300. It was well worth the cost - had a wonderful ceremony & got to share it with the lovely friends we had made on the forums & onboard.

Hi Angie,

I am so glad that you had a smashing time - and loads of photos too I hope. Those memories are so lovely - well done you!

If you are romantics we would fully recommend the Renewal of Vows ceremony, we are one those couples who prefer a table for two, for a bit of quality time together, and usually cruise alone.

It was our 40th Anniversary in February 2005, and we went on the Maiden cruise on P&O Arcadia in May to celebrate it. We were one of the first couples to do this on Arcadia, and it was a fantastic experience, the shore side service was excellent, and they really looked after us on the ship.

The assistant Food & Beverage manager was our contact on board; we had a meeting with him and the Captain sometime before the ceremony. When the Captain found out we had no guests he arranged for his wife to be a witness, but later we met another couple we had been talking to in the embarkation queue, and they came too. It was a lovely romantic ceremony held in the Viceroy room, on a beautiful sunny evening. The photographer took lots of photos, we had cake and champagne afterwards, and it was a lot less stress than our wedding day! When we went to dinner there was another bottle of champagne waiting for us, not part of the package, perhaps it was because we were one of the first on Arcadia.

It’s quite funny really, when we are telling fellow cruisers about it, you can visibly see some husbands flinching! We are really glad we did it, the main photo has pride of place in our house, with memories of a very special day.

Just after we got back, my wife was diagnosed with breast cancer, and had two operations and radiotherapy, and thanks to the wonderful care we received from surgeons and nurses of the local cancer care clinic, and we were back cruising on Arcadia the following October, this time with our best man and his wife.
