Very nice David, and good ship choice
We are doing a similar cruise with Celebrity in October (Spain and Canaries - 10 nights)

Never been on Ventura but she is basically the same (certainly in layout) to Azura which we quite like. Just hope that her reputation is unfounded.

I have been reading about your "adventure" which I'm sure you could have managed without! Pleased that for you and your things turned out OK.
Regarding Venture we've been on her a few times. The latest was last May to the Canaries and we are going on her on the 1st October to the Med. As you say same layout as Azura slightly different "feel" but we like them both

I don't think you need have any concerns, the reputation Ventura got was in the early days but since then it appears to have become a firm favourite with many.

Re: Ventura N729
I take no notice of so called reputation David and form my own opinions.
Our next two are on Azura and then Ventura.
If I'd believed certain sites, I'd still be holidaying in Cornwall
We've liked all the ships we've been on so far.
All are slightly different and all have their own character but we actually go on holiday to enjoy ourselves, not worry about trivia, as some folk do.
A mate of mine sailed on Arcadia and said he didn't like it because it doesn't have a proper Atrium.
What the eff has an Atrium got to do with you enjoying a holiday ?????
I reckon you'll have a great time.
Empty vessels .. and all that

Apart from a few noisier creeks and groans she is just like Azura, but without the sometimes rowdy Sea Screen, and we prefer the old Ramblas decor and layout of the glass house to that of Azura.

It's not that bad for us - we are embarking from Mayflower Terminal so will use Dock Gate 20, the one that not many know about!

Re: Ventura N729
You've been banging on about it for so long now that everyone must know ! It was previously a well-kept secret, originally passed on to us by some friends from Poole. That route is, however, now signposted as the exit to the M271 from the Mayflower Terminal
