  Jan. The last cruise I was on there was a glut of cancellations. It didn't matter but when the crew started absconding as well I knew there was a problem.

Did you manage to get a £1,299 Getaway balcony cabin this time round ?

Looks like a great cruise but on this occasion, sadly .....

Indeed I did. I had hoped to go on D314 a week earlier but Getaways on that one balconies were £600pp dearer and no signs of dropping with three weeks to go. (Just watch the prices drop now!!!)

It does look an interesting itinerary and being a smaller ship, Adonia can go through the Kiel canal. We enjoyed the Baltic the last time we went but were keen to visit different ports.

Pity you (and another of my friends on here - you know who you are!!) can't be joining us. :(

Would love to be there Gary, but too much happening here. Especially as Adonia calls at Gdynia, where there is a Polish WW2 destroyer the Blyskawicza preserved. My grandfather helped to build her and on the night of May 4th / 5th 1942 she defended Cowes against the Luftwaffe, I was a one year old in the town at the time, and most Cowes people of that vintage remember the Blyskawica with great affection.

Maybe another time.

I have just been looking at a Youtube video by Pitchfork Productions showing around Adonia on her maiden voyage. It looks fabulous, and I'm pleased to say Sue showed interest. Youtube/watch?v=qdKIxYLehJ0 great accompanying music too. Look forward t hearing your report OBF.

It looks like there's only me and the Captain (again!) so plenty of room for you and Sue, Frank. You can have the other Owner's Suite!!!

The link is http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qdKIxYLehJ0

Well that is what I am reading against Around Adonia - YouTube on the other Tab. I have the music playing in the background now, very peaceful and it might be 'Sleepy Shores'.

Whatever, the video is great, and has definitely got us interested. I found loads of uploaded P&O and Cunard videos on YouTube from a link from Marine Divers Paphos Cyprus. Do you remember John and Debbie Gittoes entertainments officers on Aurora when we did the Venice cruise Gary? They were leaving the ship to set up this diving business in Cyprus, and they are on the web, with a You Tube video of John diving to clear tourist rubbish from the sea bed off Paphos, somehow that linked us to QE2 and thence to all these others including the Adonia one.

You can tell I am having a lazy day today!!

I just tested the link from here and it worked first time, so should be OK for you too.

The music is 'Sailing By' composed by Ronald Binge, I knew I liked it.
