Re: Last One to Post Wins
Just picked the car up from the garage, my low beam would not work and of course with modern cars they put it on the diagnostic machine. The seal on the headlight had failed and moisture built up inside the headlight killing the gizmo box the seems to control everything on the headlights like auto leveling. Long story short, new complete headlight with Xenon Bulbs fitted £1800. Ouch!
The Xenon Bulb made by Ostram on its own is about £230.00.
A little job of washing the car soon was saved, they gave it a full valet, inside and out.

An expensive car wash Ray. I’d have done it for a grand.

Use the space bar to move the full stop at the end of your message until it's the required number of ten characters.

Thanks Stephen, I did think about that but didn't think it would work. Should have tried.

Had a cataract removed yesterday. Not keen on having a knife poked in my eye but the experience wasn't as scary as feared and the result is amazing.

Re: Last One to Post Wins
Thanks Ray. Had a transparent plastic cover on when I came home that I was allowed to take off this morning. Has to go back on overnight for a week. I was stunned when I took it off and could read the small print on the eye drop bottle. The cataract was making me see double in one eye that glasses only partly corrected, very frustrating. All sorted in 15 mins in theatre. After discussion on here about the NHS recently the service has been amazing. Referred to a specialist private company but paid for by the NHS and all done very quickly just across the road from the main hospital. I expected a long wait. 4 weeks now until check up and then do the other one which is not quite so bad.

We have a similar experience with speedy service Merv. Pauline saw the GP on 19th Dec referred for gastroscopy, and then appointment for that on Xmas eve. She had a follow up consultant telephone appointment last Monday and, even though nothing except a minor hiatus hernia, he said let's do a CT scan to make sure, and we now have the appointment for that on Tuesday morning.Mervyn and Trish wrote: ↑14 Jan 2023, 17:36Thanks Ray. I very much doubt we would do better than that if we went private.

That's great to hear. We hear about the NHS failures but rarely the successes. In my case if it wasn't for a vigilant nurse and brilliant surgeon almost 3 years back I wouldn't be here.

Re: Last One to Post Wins
Had a similar experience as you Merv last Wednesday, as in a private hospital procedure (Colonoscopy) but paid for by the NHS. Not something I’d want to do every week but it wasn’t too bad. The prep before is the worst bit.
There were some pretty nurses so it wasn’t all bad

You're right. I've had a couple of those. Prefer not to have another anytime soon.

Me neither.
Funnily enough this was my second one as well. And even though you know what’s coming it still doesn’t make it any easier.
