Re: Med cruise p&o deluxe cabin
Certainly if you are only having one cabin then the de-luxe cabins are worth the extra, they are bigger, longer but no wider, with a larger balcony, and you can have the main bed in the queen configueration whereas in a standard balcony the 3rd bed is a pull down bunk which fits over a bed, which means the main bed has to be set up as 2 singles.
The de-luxe bathroom also has a bath tub with a shower over it, standard balcony cabins only have a shower.
You also need to decide if you want an open balcony, all D Deck cabins have these balconies. If you want a covered balcony you need to specify a cabin on E deck, but these are limited so you need to book early to secure one of these, and if you do want and get one of these then stipulate that you do NOT want an upgrade, since being further aft these are in a lower price category.
As far as which cruise, you have to decide if want a guranteed hot weather cruise or a more risky northern waters one, whichever you choose I think you will enjoy it.
