DTM
The other author I should have mentioned , similar to Peter James is Mark Billingham with. His Tom Thorne series of novels. Again should be read in order.
Hope you are keeping well. Havn't seen you since Artemis Farewell.
Regards
Colin

Hi Colin - can you believe that farewell cruise is now nearly 4 years ago, where has that time gone

And you're dead right about Mark Billingham (I'd forgotten about him), I've read all the Tom Thorne ones. Very good. They even put a couple of the books into a tv drama a few years back I seem to remember but never carried on with it for some reason :(

Hope you're well

and I've just discovered Harlan Coben who looks promising
Those are all on my regulars list too K :D

I'd also add Simon Kernick too, well worth a look.

Thanks, DTM - I'll give him a go. I'm also rather enjoying Jo Nesbo at present.

Hope you and Mandy are still coping OK

My mum's now writing an extension to her autobiography, which she self-published. Guess who's got to type it up....

I'm family history tracing at the moment, which has produced some surprises too. Who knew I had relatives who'd been born three months premature and survived? (Well it was only six months after their parents' wedding so I assume they were premature).

If you find any ancestors that were at Ashley Down, Merv, let me know and I'll waive the charges for the file copy.

Another one for DTM.
Try Luke Delaney ( Inspector Sean Corrigan novels) Very much like Stuart MacBride. As before, make sure you read them in order.

Thanks for the introduction to Simon Kernick, DTM. I thoroughly enjoyed the Dennis Milne trilogy and am now starting on the Tina series. Excellent.

Creature of habit, I'm afraid. If it's a cruise then Rumpole is generally dusted off. Did read an amazing autobiography on Aurora 'Uncle Tungsten' by Oliver Sacks. ( he's a neurologist but this is about his childhood & his love of chemistry). He's more famous for Awakenings & The Man Who Mistook His Wife For A Hat.

If you like Quintin Jardine & Stuart McBride give Cato Ramsay, Elly Griffiths & David Balldacci a go..... I have been to quite a few authors talks by 3 of these authors and they were interesting, going to hear a new author (for me) on Wednesday evening called Andy Malone it's a different type of book "science fiction thriller" so will see how that goes might open up a new area to explore:)

I've recently discovered Joel Rosenberg, who writes thrillers set in the middle East. I've just finished reading The 12th Imam trilogy about war between Israel and Iran - cracking good read..
