We've recorded it but haven't had a chance to watch it. Is it as rubbishy as the previous two series?

Words of wisdom from the "Off-Topic" thread pertinent to this one:

I doubt there'll be anything radical in that - just another bunch of performing weirdos out for their 10 minutes of fame

Correct. Full of Americans trying to out do each other.

The freak behind reception was a right nancy boy.

how many stereotypes can you get in 30 m inutes of car crash TV
1 the camp annoying American who thinks his funny and oh so witty but is just annoying and a prat
2 the blonde bimbo type , OMG, like OMG like, I'm a dancer and a special snowflake
3 the self entitled , American nouveau riche, who have money but no class and are sadly typically brash yanks
4 the promoted from M&S, passenger liason , who is a toadying wanabee
5 the gay irish couple, who cover several PC groups, who have had a life changing experience now they are on a cruise and will spend the rest of the series bemoaning the life they could have had if only they discovered cruises 10 years ago
Thank God our upcoming cruise in May, will be our last for some considerable time

Sounds divine but you could have joined me in ignoring it altogether. I saw the last one which was quite enough, thank you

ever the eternal optimist, I hoped it might be a programme about genuine cruise holidays, not another ,pick the biggest tossers to show how elitist and snob ridden cruise ships are or find the most annoying staff twonk and make them a laughing stock
after about 7 minutes it got deleted from the record planner.

I can't believe after the previous series Princess still consider it good PR for their cruises. Anyone who books a cruise because they want a holiday as portrayed in these programmes will be disappointed. And anyone who wants a decent holiday will be put off entirely. I just wonder what drugs their PR department were on when they agreed to it.

Merv, you need to check with your TA, I understand UK sales increased following the Royal programme last year.
You know what they say, there is no such thing as bad publicity.
We quite enjoyed it, mainly wondering why P&O did not copy some of the decor for Britannia, instead of the bland interiors they chose. I realise that some don't like the brash fittings of American ships, but we love their wow factor, rather the Oh Hum we feel on P&O.

Pehaps the bookings went up so the ' I wanna be a celebrity ' types could be seen on a ship that was ' Seen on TV '

We watched it last night and it didn't seem quite as bad as the previous two series. There was a bit more "behind the scenes" stuff, which is what really interests us. That lad on reception could use a good keel-hauling, though..... :sarcasm:

Didn't like the colour of the fluid leaking out of the pipes.

I think being the chief engineer of "hotel services" must be the worst job on the ship.

Well we watched it - thinking that if it looked ok we might book an outing. Enough already - if that's typical of Princess, it's not for us!

What with that couple making their own cruise line look-alike badges (and wearing them!!!), and the 'competition' to see who got the prize for the most 'travelled' passengers ON THAT PARTICULAR CRUISE! Get me a bucket, I want to be sick!

DK - I like your sentiment, and hope that your forthcoming cruise in May won't be the last for a while as you said - have a great time.

Bang on Merv, we are pretty new to cruising (2 taken and 1 to come) but if we had watched this prior to booking our first cruise it might have put us off.

Fortunately I decided to join cruise forums like this one and based my opinion on the average opinion of seasoned cruisers. Like Tripadvisor for land based holidays there are always mixed opinions, some good some bad but you have to look over the shoulders of the moaners sometimes.
I switched over at the point where the American lady said we will have to wait for some of the Elite members to die before we can overtake them, I thought you are already dead lady you need to get a life.

We've only done one Princess cruise and really enjoyed it. But some of the Americans were a hoot. Like the woman who couldn't understand why they served English Breakfast Tea on an American ship. Or her husband who was angry there was lobster on the menu, alongside half a dozen other options, because he didn't like lobster. Then there was the woman who wasn't planning to use the free internet time her loyalty tier offered and was demanding to know what they'd give her instead.
