Yes, there was a 'New York 3 Stop' tour which we took. It called at Upper East Side, Times Sq and 9/11 Memorial Site with a promise of 2 hours at each stop. Unfortunately, the traffic was gridlocked more than usual due to various events taking place that weekend and we spent the day stuck in traffic with little time at each stop. We were nowhere near Times Sq. Our 'tour guide' gave us no information whatever and spent the whole day playing with her phone. So that was a waste of a day in New York.
However, we had wonderful weather all weekend and, due to missing Bar Harbor, an extra day (or most of it) in New York.
We used the ferry from Red Hook to Wall St quite extensively and found it fine. We even took a DIY trip to Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island using the ferry and Statue Cruises at a fraction of the cost of the P&O trip (no surprises there!).
P&O had problems all weekend with the organised tours with numerous complaints.
All in all we had an excellent weekend and now have a better idea of transport options for future visits.
