But you've left the question about the aforementioned that started the conversation Sir Modplod.

It's the usual Merv......one rule for one ...etc ;)

I think a couple of posts leaned towards whether they liked XX not whether they missed him ........Which makes Modplod actions correct in my opinion..

If whether or not a poster disliked a fellow forum member, there would probably be a lot fewer posts allowed.😁

My point wasn't the validity of removing the posts which were removed. I accept that. It was wondering why the one which named MM in the first place and started the flurry was left, potentially to start the whole circus again.

Should we not just accept that whilst bassman67 is entitled to his point of view any debate on this would be unacceptable when said person has no right of reply?

Well he posed a question alongside an opinion. Seems odd to allow the question but not the answers. I just thought it would be tidier to remove both. But hey ho. No big deal.

I don't necessarily agree as it could be seen as a rhetorical question but point taken.

We have criticised most EU politicians on here quite regularly, and since I doubt any of them are forum members, then presumably they would likely fall into the same right of reply category???

There was nothing amiss with the original posting … it was the responses that violated the rules of the Forum

Have now ' adjusted ' the original post

ps …. my magic powers do not seemingly extend to modifying quotes

The question is which variety of Plod, is it Inspector Mallory from Father Brown, or Herr Flick of the Gestapo in 'Allo Allo!

I don't recall seeing messages that violated forum rules, just honest responses that in my opinion contained no offensive comments. If the mods don't like the answers then remove the question.

Personally I feel it an over use of mod powers and quashing of free speech, and call for a vote of no confidence in the mod concerned. :o "........... ;)

Your treading on dangerous ground.
You'll have mod plod and his siren on your back if you don't get back on topic.
