Hi, we had cabin C216 a few years ago

I can confirm it's set up just like a balcony cabin, with the beds along the wall so there's ample room for a double bed.

It's a spacious cabin with a sofa, and well situated. I think it's an excellent choice.

Cabin Number: B204
Overall Rating: 4.5
Cleanliness: 4.5
Furnishings: 4
Balcony: 2
Bathroom: 5
Location: 5
Stability: 4
Quiet Cabin: 2 (noisy due to air conditioning units please see below)

B204 is a Deluxe Balcony Cabin, very comfortable and was kept spotlessly clean by our Steward Freddie. It is in a good position between middle and aft staircases.

The bathroom contains a bath with shower over and cupboards to each side of the basin with a shaver socket in one of them. There is a full length mirror next to the bathroom door and a curtain dividing the cabin from the entrance door and bathroom which is useful at night as light shines into the cabin under the door from the corridor.

There is plenty of wardrobe space and there are seven full size drawers, four by the wardrobe (the kettle and tea/coffee making tray was on top of these) and three by the balcony door (the fridge is on top of these in a unit and the TV is on top of this). There is a pull-out table under the fridge which is useful if you use room service. To the side of this is a dressing table with chair under. There are also two small drawers each side of the bed.

A curtain divides the cabin between the bed and seating area which consisted of a small table and sofabed.

The cabin had plenty of storage for our 7 suitcases. We managed to get one large one with smaller ones inside in the back of the wardrobe and the rest under the beds opened out.

The cabin is in a good position for stormy weather.

The downsides of this cabin are:
-the safe is in the bottom of the wardrobe, a silly place to put it given the average age of people on board was 65+;
-the air conditioning above the bed is very noisy and for the first couple of nights we found it difficult to sleep;
-the ventilation in the bathroom is even noisier and we had to keep the bathroom door closed at night;
-the balcony door lever is completely broken and the only way to lock the door is to use the small clasp P&O have put on it which is very flimsy, thankfully this cabin is on deck 10 so difficult to get into from the outside;
-the balcony is really tatty. The rubber flooring is dirty, worn and lifting up at the edges. The deckchairs need replacing, we put our pool towels on them before we sat out as they are so dirty and there is rust coming through on the balcony edges even though there are several coats of paint covering the metal.

We would travel in the cabin again but only after the ship has been refurbished next year.

Time for a major refit. And if and when you do P&O, the cabins that have a bath, can you design them so that tall people can use the bog square on without having to feel like they need to put their left leg in the bath to get a half decent comfy position on the throne, as anyone tall in A233 will find out :crazy:

Also we found that we had problems with the shower over the bath. I'm 5'9 and David is 6' and we had to bend our knees to get under the showerhead to rinse off the shampoo when washing our hair. It can't be too difficult to put in showerheads that can be adjusted to allow tall people to stand upright in the shower.

In fairness Lynda I'm 6ft and found the shower over the bath in our cabin to be very good. Perhaps they vary as ours did look quite modern.
