My starter word has 4 vowels but it didn't help today!

Well I went back to my original starter word and got one vowel and one consonant but neither in the right place. Second try I got both those in the right place and another vowel in the wrong place. Once I had that it was a matter of guessing from the possibles I wrote down. Took me 4 in the end.

Amazingly I got the first two letters green but no others right. Then it took me to the third go to guess another vowel. Then it was a case of guessing as there were several possibilities. I got it on the fourth, just a lucky guess.

Three letters in correct place on first word today and then a lucky guess gave it me in two

Took me 5. One in the right place and one other in the first go and a steady plod from there!

Took me four goes. First try, my original starter word - nothing! Yesterday my starter word threw up three one in the right place but today zilch. Got three in the second go but none in the right place. One more try gave me one of the three in the right place, then it was an obvious guess but still took 4. Only once have I ever got it in two and that was a pure fluke.

As always, I guessed the wrong consonant on my third go. I can’t believe how many times my mental process is; I think it’s going to be xxxxx. No, hang on xxyxx is a much ‘better’ word. Invariably xxxxx is the correct answer.

I seem to be guessing quite well so far, I put it down to watching mainly US TV dramas.

I tried a new strategy on Octordle today. Use as many different letters in the first four goes before attempting to complete any words. It worked today as the puzzle was solved at second last row (& that included 1 silly mistake.)

Maybe I just wasn't thinking today. I got letters two, three and four by try three but took me another two to guess it.

Frustrated today too Carole! Had correct letters for 2, 3 and 4 on second line but took me another three attempts to get it right - hate it when there are so many combinations  Managed to complete Quordle but failed to guess the country in Worldle :(

Not sure what’s going on today. My wife got a different puzzle to me. The puzzle she is doing doesn’t have the dancing digits.

What are dancing digits, are these on Wordle or one of the offshoots?

I started Octordle today in a bad mood. Mrs R got Wordle in 3 & Quordle in 6; much better scores than I managed🤭.
Spoiler alert!
Message continues below.

After a three rows I had -IGHT which gave me one black and four green squares…in all eight puzzles! I floundered through ‘might’, ‘light’ ‘fight’ & then realised there was a vowel I had overlooked. I popped in the ‘E’ for ‘Eight’ and every square in each puzzle started to rotate & flash.
The puzzle was Octordle #0088 the 8s in the title line also rotated.

I got Worldle in 3 today too

Hadn’t started Octordle but put the word in you mentioned and as you described the whole thing started rotating and every box had the same word - very strange - never seen that before.

I’ve also completed Quordle but no jumping letters in that puzzle either.

Don’t know if that link will work. It shows the Octordle 88 solution.

I assume its a deliberate thing for number 88. Worked for me too.

Wordle in 3. Not done Quordle yet.
