On one hand I can understand the point, on another the conditions could be better than in some peoples private homes.

I would probably make a guess that anywhere is better than being in Ukraine at the moment.

I assume the refugees are not being confined to their rooms, and presumably they are going to be fed on board as well, which seems a perfectly acceptable medium term solution.

No! but I don’t know any one hostel that could house 1,700 refugees all together either.
