Could order a drink in a bar and before it arrived the charge would be on the account.
Was the bar service that slow?

I’d take everything possible.
Belt and braces 😁
I'm with you on that one Barney. We've already spent too much time in queues (usually at airports) behind people with everything on their phone that A) dies B) Can't get a signal or C)They can't remember when it is.

We already have packs of Passports, Vaccination Certificates, Boarding Passes and E-tickets ready for each cabin. Fortunately (or not) no need for proof of LFTs now but over the counter Boots Tests (just under £10 for 5) are poised. And my credit card ready for action too. Not sure how that got registered for both cabins!

When we travelled they wanted proof of vaccinations, proof of lft, passport etc.
I had hard copy of everything which made it easier for them.
I’d registered credit card and checked in online and did the health declaration online.
It was the best and quickest check in ever.
Definitely take a hard copy of the boarding pass because they stamp it ok to board.

As for booking the theatre, I didn’t book before travelling.
No seating was allocated and we just gave cabin number on entering.
Now having said that the ship was well under capacity so it may be different now.
When we went to Sindhu the first time I booked onboard on the app and the second time just went there and booked at the desk.
Again it may be different now.
The app is not very efficient.

A. It doesn’t keep up with you account spending even if you leave it overnight to update, so we relied on the old fashion method of going to reception.

B. Same goes for booking shows. The app would say fully booked, but if you spoke to a member of crew that stand at the entrance to a show they would book you in on their iPad no problem.
That was not our experience on Britannia, the on board account updated almost immediately and we never found the theatre fully booked on the app.
I hope its working better when we are on Iona in October.

Apparently the app on Aurora is having problems by showing shows already booked up/no availability when they aren't. We were told to book through reception or just turn up on the night and hope.

I blamed Stephen. :o

I heard he wasn't really on your cruise. He was actually on a Crumblies' Coach Tour to Bournemouth.

Does the type of phone make a difference. I do not have an i phone, mine is analog, as is my good wife's. My phone was unable to work on board to book or check things, but Sarah's phone, which is the same make but newer, did. Phones are only four years old.

Any phone that can access the internet should work on the app.

All I can say Towny, is reception had a go, and they could not get it to connect.
Just another thought, I take it that the app allows both phones from the same cabin to connect.?

Yes - and any other devices that you have, and all at the same time

Thank you. It may not be a problem for the next cruise, it's not till October 2023 and may have a new phone by then.
Should now be on Arcadia, but canceled when Russia started throwing their weight around.

Let's hope it's not too fabulous. I can't afford to take them again too soon.

P.s I'm just warming up after an afternoon in the Deck 18 forward outdoor pool. And it's 13 degrees here today! Being a port day, despite the size of the ship, we had the pool to ourselves for the first half hour. I wonder if reception can lend me a hot water bottle?

Merv, glad you are enjoying Iona, we will be on her in October, are all the speciality restaurants now open, and is the Olive grove readily available to book, or is it always fully booked?
