You won't regret it. It does lovely chicken wings or thighs, all charred and crispy as if you'd BBQ'd them.
Anybody got a Ninja ?

I posted elsewhere ...
Using one's ' Foodi 9 ' we made an orange flavoured cake last Sunday to take to one's seriously poorly bestest mate but it turned out like wartime bread pudding. So ... is super stodgy caused by overcooking or too much liquid ?
Are there any cake makers reading this who could possibly shed some light on our mishap ?

Skimmed. It is important that you add fat free/skimmed milk rather than full fat. It is thinner and thick milk will stop the cake from being moistManoverboard wrote: 05 Oct 2022, 14:12I posted elsewhere ...

Re: Anybody got a Ninja ?
My sister-in-law bought one of the large Ninjas a few months ago. She isn't someone who goes in for gadgets. She and my brother-in-law are really impressed with all the different things that can be cooked in it. As the time taken is far less than in an oven they also think they will be saving on their utilities bill. I won't be buying one a I don't think it's really useful for a person on their own, but for a family or a couple it seems from what I've seen that it could be a sensible buy.

The only liquid required was orange juice ... I assumed it was totally fat freeOnelife wrote: 06 Oct 2022, 10:26

My sister paid in the region of £129 for hers and said it does everything she want although she is still experimenting…she did baked potatoes the other day saying all she did was rub spuds with a very small amount of oil and they came out crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside, as did the chips she cooked.

Just made the Mk2 version ... less liquid, lower temperature, shorter duration and less volume.
Could be yummy or crumby

I've high hopes that you'll have cracked it this time…not literally of course.Manoverboard wrote: 06 Oct 2022, 13:30Just made the Mk2 version ... less liquid, lower temperature, shorter duration and less volume.

Not quite, very tasty mind but there's still room for improvement. Basically Mobietta needs a new mixer to beat more air into the cakes and next time I will place the cake tin directly onto the pot.Onelife wrote: 06 Oct 2022, 13:51I've high hopes that you'll have cracked it this time…not literally of course.Manoverboard wrote: 06 Oct 2022, 13:30Just made the Mk2 version ... less liquid, lower temperature, shorter duration and less volume.

More fun that making chips but it made a hell of a job on Aunt Bessie's Duck Fat Roast Potatoes

Re: Anybody got a Ninja ?
How do these Ninjas cope with heating ready meals, do they cook them as well as a normal oven?

Re: Anybody got a Ninja ?
Not a problem but the meal(s) would of course need to fit on the rack within the Ninja bowl.towny44 wrote: 06 Oct 2022, 19:30How do these Ninjas cope with heating ready meals, do they cook them as well as a normal oven?
Our Ninja can operate as a conventional or a fan oven so anything that can be done in a regular oven can be done in the Ninja. As a rule of thumb the cooking instructions on the ready meal pack would need to be reduced by 10% for the temperature and 20% for the duration. It could be achieved on the Bake / Roast or the Air Crisp settings.
