Re: Forum Access Issues
We did much the same. Rather than save for meagre returns we decided we were at that age where money had to be working for us so we put some money into Premium Bonds and increased our holding in HPB. Happier with that rather than lining the pockets of the banks and money men.Mervyn and Trish wrote: 04 May 2024, 07:21Most of our savings are in Premium Bonds these days since high interest accounts vanished. No risk to capital and on average we get a reasonable return with always the possibility of a bigger win.

So regarding Forum Access.....I note that you can be on here as registered member, hidden or as a guest ( with limited access ). When you log in I've noticed a box you can tick so you are hidden for that session. I've noticed sometimes when I scroll down to the bottom that sometimes it shows hidden members online. Out of curiosity I've ticked that box to be shown as hidden but it never seems to work and I still show as a registered member at the bottom. Is the reason I can't show as hidden because I haven't made enough posts as that seems to be the only reasonable answer to me.

Hi Portsmouth, I don’t know if this is the case but I rather suspect that the “hidden” means you can see it but nosey buggers like me can’t….this includes anyone else on the forum. I’m sure David will be along shortly to clarify.Portsmouth wrote: 16 Sep 2024, 20:04So regarding Forum Access.....I note that you can be on here as registered member, hidden or as a guest ( with limited access ). Re: Forum Access Issues
One issue that's happened a few times now is that when I've posted a reply to someone's comment, when I've typed it I get told that there's been a recent posting similar to mine and would I like to review my reply. I find that if I then do nothing but open another tab on my laptop and sign in again my reply has already been posted so I just delete the original tab.

Re: Forum Access Issues
If you mark as hidden then as far as you are concerned nothing changes all it means is that other users cannot see that you are online.
=========================
If you make a post when somebody else has posted a reply before you it points that out but if you scroll down you should find the submin button

I think you’ve missed something David, shouldn’t I be getting a promotion for stepping in and answering ‘new members’ queries?david63 wrote: 17 Sep 2024, 14:30If you mark as hidden then as far as you are concerned nothing changes all it means is that other users cannot see that you are online.

I think I should also mention that I’ve been very good in your absence by not upsetting the Royalists too much
Commodore has a nice ring to it, thanks in anticipation, your mate Onelife.

I am also having the same issue!Stephen wrote: 27 Apr 2024, 12:20Problem with accessing the forum lately.
Cannot get the home page to open, just keep getting the timer going round and round. Alson frequently asked to login. This has been an intermittent issue for a few days now. One minute all is fine then it crashes.

When you're locked up in the Tower you'll be stripped of your rank anyway. David's got standards you know

Hi Foxy, I’m not one that believes in Myths, Gods, Kings and Queens, but if there is the faintest hope that there is some truth in the myths, the nearer I can get to those bloody Ravens the sooner this Royal pantomime will be over.oldbluefox wrote: 18 Sep 2024, 10:35When you're locked up in the Tower you'll be stripped of your rank anyway. Not in your lifetime Keefie. You might as well get used to it and enjoy what time you have left without stressing.Onelife wrote: 18 Sep 2024, 16:01Hi Foxy, I’m not one that believes in Myths, Gods, Kings and Queens, but if there is the faintest hope that there is some truth in the myths, the nearer I can get to those bloody Ravens the sooner this Royal pantomime will be over.oldbluefox wrote: 18 Sep 2024, 10:35When you're locked up in the Tower you'll be stripped of your rank anyway. Re: Forum Access Issues
So my new little problem is this.......
I was putting my answer in for the alphabet game ....last answer was Marseilles so I tried to put in Nice but wasn't allowed because I was told I had to use 10 letters. Tried to resubmit and still wasn't allowed so instead I put in " Nice is my answer " which worked. But I saw earlier answers that had less than 10 letters so.....what was I doing wrong and if I want to use less than 10 letters in an answer what do I do ......thanks

Put in Nice followed by many spaces and a full stop (to make up 10 letters)

It's lost in the post apparently. With about 300 boxes of chocolates.
