I have every confidence in David sorting it out :)
If he is going to sort out Chinese spam botters, he maybe needs to disguise himself as Poirot rather than a purple smurf.

Got asked to login again this morning even though I always tick the 'stay logged in' box.
Seems to be getting a regular occurrence.

Website is a nightmare this morning. The home page struggles to open at best, mostly it just starts to open then freezes.

There was an unusual spike in activity around 08:00 this morning (no idea why at the moment as I have not looked into it yet), but it is back to normal now.

It was slow earlier today but it was nothing I was doing - I suspect the hosts were "tinkering"

Are you using Chrome as your browser Stephen? I do and over the last few days it has been erratically sluggish, if you get my drift, it's either Chrome or a recent update of Windows 10 which always seem to create more problems than it fixes.
John - there are many problems at the moment with Chrome not behaving as it should, not only with this software but generally.
This morning logging in to the laptop there was a completely new start page for the chrome browser, all my saved data was absent and it wanted me to start afresh, eventually I logged into my Google account but lost my old bookmarks although my passwords are still there. Strange but chrome on the tablet is normal, so will be OK on holiday but not looking forward to what awaits when we get back.

I have found it very slow for the past few weeks mow. Plus it very often locks me out.
Use chrome and never had a problem before.

Even waiting for this topic to load took more than a minute.

I contributed to the other thread just after Christmas about the sudden slowness of this site. It was never resolved and I am still having the same problem. I use the up to date version of Chrome and still no improvement. I usually do something else on my laptop or tablet (solitaire, Wordle etc) while I wait for the page to load. I gave up commenting on it, so I'm glad someone else is carrying the torch!

I have no problems at all on my desktop but the site is very slow on my phone. Posting seems to take an age but can usually be rectified by doing a refresh. Not sure what happens on my tablet or laptop so I'll have to check it out.

Much as I would like to resolve this I have nothing to work with - there is no common denominator and it only appears to happen to some users not all, which leads me to the conclusion that it is a local issue.

I often have to press the submit button twice, but I do it immediately if I dont see the red bar start to display on my phone, and no this never results in a duplicate post Moby.

If determined hackers can get into the Pentagon and GCHQ then I hardly think using old windows 7 is going to make your security any worse.

I've naught worth stealing but I don't particularly want any nasty viruses on a PC that we rely on
