Re: Frequent login request
I have to log in every time I come onto the site although sometimes it does load direct. Clicking on Remember Me doesn't seem to make much difference, neither does switching from Chrome to Firefox. Today the pages do seem to have been slow to load although generally they are quite quick.

Re: Frequent login request
Funnily enough we've not had a problem with the P&O queue recently. I notice elsewhere they're getting tougher with the "I don't care what my embarkation time is I'm arriving early to jump the queue and get my sunbed reserved" crowd and making them wait outside. About time too.towny44 wrote: 25 Jul 2023, 11:34It's also become terribly slow to load pages, I know David said this was a security issue, but surely the security system should recognise regular users and not have them join the P&O embarcation queue?
But the page loading is veeeeery slow this morning.
My login hiccup never happens when I use my PC to access the site. Only my phone. Weird.

Same here.
The old place just hasn't been the same since Moby and Foxy threw in the towel

Re: Frequent login request
As I have reported before, I don't have a problem with frequent log ins, but boy is it slow to change topics. Up until now it was taking 18 seconds to change topics, but today it is taking just short of 2 minutes!!! Incredible.
I would like to add that I have a spanking new lap top with latest Windows and all other bells and whistles!! I use Chrome. On my phone, which is just as slow, I use the Samsung browser but still incredibly slow. I have tried all the tips you guys have given me but to no avail.

Re: Frequent login request
There was an issue this morning with the site running slow as there was a rogue script running on the server, but that has been sorted now.
As for frequent logging in that is almost certainly something to do with the browser - why some do and some don't I have no idea. I can understand there being a problem when using a mobile device if you are using mobile data as with some networks the IP address is constantly changing.

Re: Frequent login request
It's not a mobile data issue with me because it happens on my phone connected to the same broadband connection as the PC, where it doesn't. However I think you're right it's a browser issue. When I accessed it on Chrome today it said I needed to log in. I ignored it and accessed it using the default Samsung browser which didn't demand Iog in and allowed me to post happily. When I Iater returned to Chrome it still claimed I was logged out. The odd thing is usually Chrome is the one that behaves! For sure it's not the site anyway.

must admit this site was very slow this morning and is not much better now which is dissapointing as it had seemed to speed up a bit for the last 2 weeks

Hi Foxy…I also noticed that things were running a bit slow but was back up to speed within a couple of minutes, this was after having spoken to my mate David who said he would make my query a priority…. how long did you have to wait?oldbluefox wrote: 25 Jul 2023, 17:24Indeed. Re: Frequent login request
I usually have to log in (Safari) and it accepts thumbprint to fill in both boxes. Sometimes, it pops up ‘not recognised’ and I resubmit the same credentials and off we go.
Not a problem.
What is a problem is when using my phone -which usually causes no problems on this site, I sometimes get a request to accept cookies. Fine, but the pop up for me to accept doesn’t pop up no matter how far down the page I scroll. I don’t change settings on my phone & it usually works OK the next day.

Re: Frequent login request
Any request to accept cookies, on any device, is definitely a browser issue and usually occurs after a browser update. It happens to me on multiple sites.

Oddly after reporting this and a few days of regular log in requests all has settled down again without me changing a thing! Weird.

Strange isn't it, David tells us it must be our phones or browsers that are at fault, then everything suddenly improves, I wonder why?Mervyn and Trish wrote: 29 Jul 2023, 20:42Oddly after reporting this and a few days of regular log in requests all has settled down again without me changing a thing! I had to login again yesterday, or I should say I had to log out and then login again to be able to access posts.

I think he's right as I never ever have a problem with my PC. I just assume that maybe an update on the phone upsets the apple cart and another restores order. Especially as when it does happen on my phone switching browser usually makes a difference.towny44 wrote: 29 Jul 2023, 22:44Strange isn't it, David tells us it must be our phones or browsers that are at fault, then everything suddenly improves, I wonder why?Mervyn and Trish wrote: 29 Jul 2023, 20:42Oddly after reporting this and a few days of regular log in requests all has settled down again without me changing a thing! Re: Frequent login request
Me!!!
It's a strange one. Sometimes it's really slow to load pages, sometimes I can get in without entering details, sometimes it doesn't recognise my password and comes up with another box;this occurs on my phone and my PC so it's not restricted to which device I am using, nor which browser. I just take it as a quirk of the system and am happy to play along with it.

Re: Frequent login request
Well how about this. I'm on my phone. I'm definitely on a different IP because I'm on a different WiFi network in a different country. And all is fine.
