Good judgement has never been something I would associate with Charlie ...but then what's another few hundred thousand down the drain?

The American people need to see “we are not amused” it's
We all know that these state visits are done at the behest of the Govt., with the possible exception of our tame republican.
Next you’ll be telling me its money well spent
It could be worth billions if it helps to mend the Special Relationship, but I guess you won't want to contemplate that.

I thought that Trump was a "media man" who knew how to use it to his advantage. If so then why did he choose to give his one address to the nation about the war military operation in Iran on the same day and time that NASA was making its "return to the moon" rocket launch - unless he hoped that it would go unnoticed, which it more or less did as he did not say anything new.

An interesting article here about the problems Trump would have in trying to leave NATO (partly caused by his mate Marco Rubio)

Lets see him be disrespectful to the King like he did to Volodymyr Zelenskyy.

The special relationship will return once Trump leaves his podium, up until that time the only conceivable benefit of sending our bagage over there would be for Charlie to do something useful and tell him what the UK really thinks of him , instead of going there to suck up all the praise Trump bestows on him.

I'm not looking forward to it at all. There's more chance of Keefie being polite to the King than Trump doing so. The man is an uncultured buffoon.

(To clarify. Trump, not Keefie. Despite what Foxy said).

So now it seems that we have to make changes to some of our food products
Marmalade will now be called " Citrus Marmalade " as we adopt to EU labeling requirements
Once again we bow down to our masters as they instruct us to do things their way

Obviously I have missed something somewhere but if, as Trump claims, the US has decimated Iran's military capabilities then how did Iran manage to down a US jet?

Probably more to do with exporting marmalade than anything else.

I agree with Portsmouth, it smacks a bit of being slowly drawn back into the EU by the back door.

What next…..Re-labelling of Marmite :o because the EU crack the whip and the UK government  cave in.

Marmalades may need to be relabelled under post-Brexit food deal https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/c0e53x475qjo

It's bureaucratic nonsense like this that made me want to get out of the EU in the first place. The world is falling apart and all they can be bothered with is marmalade labels!

As for Trump. Has he finally realised he's bitten off more than he can chew and that his war is making Iran more rather than less likely to develop nuclear weapons? I reckon he may be close to achieving his objective of regime change though. Even if it is in the US instead of Iran.

If, as Sadiq Khan says, London is a safe city why then does he have armed policemen to look after him and why does he apparently have a bullet proof SUV? Obviously London is safe for him but try convincing the good people of Clapham.

At the very least America and Israel's intervention will have put that possibility back a few years.

Where there is muck, there is money, and plenty of it…. What with my country estate, with its herd of deer, one working sheep dog, four chickens…and after last weeks tipping success two turtle doves and a partridge in a pear tree. :D

Onelife, you will be able to let your chickens out this coming Thursday. I don’t know if bird flu restrictions were in Shropshire, but over in the east restrictions are being lifted.

Hi Ray, here in Shropshire we’ve been able to give the girls a little bit more freedom, in that they don’t have to be penned…we can’t however give the eggs away…I’ll have a look to see if this rule has changed...thanks.

Looks as if Trump is loosing patience as Iran is not lying down and rolling over as he expected then to do. His attention span on Iran has expired and he now wants to move on to the next catastrophe that he can create.
