Re: Private Messages
Perhaps old messages of other types could be deleted once they were no longer relevant. For example, I very much doubt if anyone would complain if the first 10,000 postings on LOTP were to be deleted!

Re: Private Messages
There was a group on here last year arranging meet ups etc for a Caribbean cruise, I haven't noticed any of them posting since so perhaps if they were using pm's to exchange more personal information then those messages could still be there and they are unaware as they haven't been back to the forum .. just a thought
10 people with a full in box ( 100 messages ) equates to 1000 messages and possibly the same number in the sent box = 2000

Now down to 4,200
Don't forget that you may also have messages in tour "Sent box" that you do not need as well as your Inbox

I have to confess that about 10% of them are mine - virtually all of which are a by product of administering the forum.Dark Knight wrote:so who has them all then?

Re: Private Messages
Well I have to hold my hand up, I have never deleted any messages since I joined the forum it just never occurred to me.
So my sincere apologies david63.
I have deleted each and every one, including in the sent box but one by one, then I read how to delete all of them at once. Should
have read further down the posts, duh.
So that must be at least 50 messages of mine I think.
I will delete regularly from now on.

Sorry, Cornmillgirl, that was probably my answer to The Giant which caused the problem - it was the only way I knew and I only had about half a dozen to delete (billy-no-mates, that's the problemcornmillgirl wrote:Well I have to hold my hand up, I have never deleted any messages since I joined the forum it just never occurred to me.

Re: Private Messages
To those of you who have deleted their unrequired PMs - thank you, we are now down to well under 3,000.
However there are several that have not deleted any yet and I am fairly sure that the majority of those that are still in the system are not required so can you please remove them.

Just had to return to this useful little resource to remind myself how to clear my inbox.
