P&O Wine Packages
Just been looking around at a few things and it seems that the wine packages have changed.
There are now only two package types that have about 15 different wines and you can choose you own selection of 4, 6 or 12 bottles - not sure if you can have multiple bottles of the same wine.
This does seem to be a better idea than the fixed wines in the package, some of which may not be to your taste.
Perhaps this is part of the change from having wine waiters to the table waiter doing the job.

That was the problem with the old packages. We could never find a one that we liked all the wines. Sounds a much better idea. We will have to take a look.

That would be a much preferred way if you could choose what 'you' like to make up a package
I'm sure it would encourage more to buy the packages too ( it would me ) and of course will make life easier for the table waiters as I can see them being run off their feet doing both jobs, at least when pre ordered they won't be running backwards and forwards to the bar.

Having recently returned from an excellent Ventura cruise please allow me to update your OP.
There remain a number of wine packages on offer, indeed, a total of 7 were on offer...

Apart from the Captain's and Commodore's collection shown in the image above there were:-
The Red Wine Package at £90.00
The White Wine package at £90.00
The New World Wine package at £90.00
The Continental Wine package at £90.00
The Exclusive Wine package at £99.50
Each of the above package prices were for 6 nominated bottles.
I actually chose from the Captain's Collection, 6 bottles priced at £92.50 ( £83.25 after Peninsular Caribbean 10% discount).
With the Captain's and Commodore's collection the passenger is issued with 'blank' vouchers and to all intents and purpose one could order the same bottle every night.
Hope that helps.

Interestingly Cunard now offer packages similar to those offered P&O.

You cannot beat Celebrity's Classic drinks package unless you are an alcoholic!!!david63 wrote:Just been looking around at a few things and it seems that the wine packages have changed.

However, if you are one whose first thought is, 'when is the sun over yardarm, yeah 8am.' then a drinks package may be just the right choice for you.

I have just completed an 11 night cruise on Celebrity Infinity and was on the 'Classic' package. It can of course be beaten by upgrading to the Premium 'Package', no big deal at less than the price of a Martini per person a day.
Of course the complimentary 'Classic' package is fine if you are watching the pennies.

If we were to have a drinks package again Meg we would do one classic and one soda package. Sufficient for us; we like a drink as much as anyone else, but not as much as some who were at the bars from first thing in the morning to last thing at night making full use of their Classic or Premium drinks package
The only downside was that they kept topping up our glasses at dinner, regardless. HIC!!! I prefer to know how much I have consumed because I, too, LML!!!

Then of course there are those who only have the 'classic' passage because it was complimentary. The same folk would find it difficult to think beyond the box because they are rarely described as 'social' drinkers who spend most of their time either watching television or aimlessly wandering around the internet.
They wouldn't know a Martini if it stared them in the face...

There's no accounting for class.

It just so happens that I spotted a breakdown of the differences in the Classic and Premium packages on my recent Celebrity cruise.

I trust that explains the difference.

'Soda' drinks are available through the classic package.

Amazing what some can put away but they reek of it the next day in the lift when they speak

Surely the Soda package is covered by the classic package?
At least it has been on my 3 Celebrity cruises.

Re: P&O Wine Packages
Seeing as you ended your post with a ? and a suggestion, in a previous post, that those on an inclusive drinks package were, 'watching the pennies.' Surely no intended slight on us I'm sure and so far from the reality.
It is, but there is the option of a soda package, which I'm sure wouldn't suit some passengers, just as the Classic package didn't suit one of us who drinks very little and is on medication every 2 and a 1/2 hours.
From the Celebrity website, for others information. You can opt for a soda package only.
Soda package
Enjoy unlimited access to a range of refreshing soft drinks with our Celebrity Soda Package. Relax in the knowledge that everything has been taken care of. You can choose a fountain or canned soft drink any time you feel thirsty and ready for a long, cool drink.
Simply present your SeaPass Card at any bar, lounge or restaurant to receive the fountain or canned soft drink of your choice.
Soda and Soft Drinks Package
Soda package
The bars and restaurants throughout the ship are well-stocked with a wide variety of soft drinks so that you can be sure to find your favourite flavour or even try a new one. The Soda Package choice includes popular classics such as Fanta Orange, Coke and Sprite, as well as newer flavours including Coke Zero, Barq’s Root Beer, Sprite Zero and Caffeine-Free Diet Coke.
There is an option for all; TT'ers, social drinkers, 24/7 drinkers, and all those in between.

Back to topic.
I thought I'd highlight the benefits of buying a wine package (Captain's) on P&O when coupled with Caribbean tier benefits.
Add a dash of Carnival Shareholder OBC and that's one fine cocktail...
