Thank You P&O

Unread post by david63 »

Not sure what is going on but earlier today I had a booking confirmation from P&O for our December 2015 cruise. OK I thought just another one of P&O's computer "glitches" as I had already had a booking confirmation back in April when we booked the cruise.

Anyway just out of curiosity I thought I would compare the two booking confirmations and found the following:
  • The price has been reduced by £142 per person
  • We have an additional £100 OBC per person
  • The arrival back in Southampton date has changed by one day so we now arrive back one day earlier but the number of nights is still the same
  • The cruise does not appear on P&O's website :problem:
Looks as if there was a "glitch" with the calculations so we have been reduced by the £142 and the extra OBC is compo - all fine by me as I was only expecting to go for 24 nights anyway.

How can you arrive back one day early and yet the number of nights remain the same?

The cruise is Southampton to the Caribbean so no date line to cross unless they have changed the itinerary as well.

The cruise was originally marketed at 24 nights - and it still is. It would appear though that someone got the itinerary wrong and if you looked at the detail then it was 25 nights. Just to make matters worse in typical P&O style it says 23 nights in the Cruise Personaliser!

I was expecting to go for 24 nights and I am still going for 24 nights - and paying less with some extra spenders courtesy of P&O so I am a "happy bunny"

The downside is that I now don't think that we will be meeting up with those on Britannia

The other plus is that after your holiday you arrive back a day earlier than expected so can now enjoy planning how to spend the extra time.

According to posts on Facebook it is now a 23 night cruise but doesn't look like there is a loss of a port visit. Very strange. We are waiting for this to come back on line to see what exactly they are offering.
