Forgotten password
After using C*** Cleaner on my computer I was logged out of Cruise Community under my normal user name ItsmeAnnC. I could not remember my password, and even the new one I managed to get sent to me a long time ago, and thought I hadn't changed, didn't work. The stored password didn't work either and I tried every permutation I could think of. The FAQs say to click on Forgotten Password on the log in page. It isn't there. Then it says if you are still having problem to contact a Board Administrator. How? When you click on Board Administrator you get the message - Sorry, email functions are disabled. I tried replying to the email that sent me the new password last time, but I can't remember how I managed to get that to happen. This must be a no reply email because it produced no result.
So here I am, under a different user name and using an email address I don't normally use just to get access to the forum.
Can you do something about this please? Am I the first person this has happened to?

Re: Forgotten password
Hiya,
' Newbie's ' cannot use a number of the functions, this is normal and is employed to keep the ' Trolls ' at bay.
You should take more care of your password details
I will alert your plight to David to resurrect your original Userid etc.

Yes, I've fallen foul of this. I've just about run out of P&O ships for my name & am on my last e-mail address!

Re: Forgotten password
Not quite sure what the problem is with passwords. I use LastPass to store my passwords and use it for most sites. I don't use it at all for any banking, credit cards details or anything sensitive solely for my own peace of mind but it seems to work fine in all other respects and logs me straight in.To gain access to LastPass all you need is one strong password and the software does the rest.
Hope that helps, and saves a few email addresses.

Re: Forgotten password
It's a conundrum isn't it? They tell you not to use the same password for different sites and they tell you not to write them down. Unless you are a memory colossus the two are incompatible. I obey rule one and ignore rule two, and have three A4 sheets full of them. My browser remembers some for me, some allow me to log in automatically, but banking sites etc clearly have a level of security that prevents that, plus the occasional hiccup logs you out.
Thanks for the software tip Foxy. I'll look into that.

Hi Manoverboard
Yes - I should remember my passwords - but I went through every one I could think of to no avail. Even cutting and pasting the last one I was sent didn't work. Hey ho! But it would be useful to have a forgotten password function (as is suggested there is on the FAQs)!

Re: Forgotten password
luckily I remembered my password and user name but this site does not now remember either so I have to enter both to access this site and I could not find any way of sending an email to David to see if he could correct this issue

Have you changed browser with 10 PB? I believe 10 comes with one called Edge. I know when I changed from IE to Firefox, because I got fed up with IE falling over, I hsd to start from scratch with it learning passwords

Mine doesn't. I only seem to need to re-enter my password about every 10 days.

Re: Forgotten password
Try LastPass. If you don't like it you can always uninstall it but I have found it to be very useful and have included it in my Firefox menu bar. I have found it really useful and never have any problems logging into this site or any others where I have asked it to store passwords.
I don't use it for banking or credit cards but for general use it has been really useful.

Re: Forgotten password
I used CCleaner once and it made a right mess so never again. I now use Glary Utilities to keep my machine running sweetly and, touch wood, it has done a good job so far.Silver_Shiney wrote:I'm beginning to think CCleaner is more trouble than it's worth...
Note to Smurfy: Please don't make Suespud change her password, ever again!!!

Re: Forgotten password
I use Wisecare 365 to keep the system ticking over.
As for this forum. Password is set to 'Remember'. Never any problems unless I do a browser history clean which usually wipes out any saved passwords. But I know it off by heart, and only takes seconds to reinstate
