Sete - France
We're on X310 which is due to visit Sete. Never heard of it. I've done a bit of basic research which hasn't really highlighted anything outstanding. About the only other information I've found is that is a tender port.
Anyone been there? Anything particular worthwhile doing? Or is just a relax outside a cafe with bottle of vin rouge type sort of place?
Thanks

I haven't been to Sete either but I have been to Nimes, Arles and Montpellier plus the Camargue region to witness the wild white horses and pink flamingos ... perhaps some of these options are available on a P&O excursion.
Keep smiling, it's good for your well being

Good choice I'de say
ps ...
I have belatedly realised that this Port is only about 80 miles or so from Carcassonne ... and that is certainly a place worthy of a visit.

I did a cruise cal there some years ago.
Our call coincided with a water carnival procession. There are a number of canals that thread though Sete. I recall a number of seafood restaurants along the quay offering mammoth sized plateau de fruits de mer.

We did a trip to Agues Mortes (sp?) a walled town nearby which was lovely. Sete itself we thoght was not worth the visit to be honest, it was a little unkempt and sad.

Re: Sete - France
I suppose I should have posted something about our recent visit to Sete.
Tendering was delayed for a couple of hours due to high winds and a big swell. A hasty change to the on-board entertainments was made, with extra events being laid in case we couldn't get in at all.
The delays were such that we had lunch before we got off the ship.
Once in town, it was a short walk to the centre. Typical Sunday afternoon in France, all the shops shut. Lots of seafood restaurants either side of the main canal, all busy.
You could book boat trips on the canal. We didn't, and I didn't look to see how much they cost etc. We watched some jousting on the canal, which was great fun, everyone cheering when the loser gets knocked into the canal! There was a largish fish market, closed of course. After wandering about and finding things like the town square we eventually settled down outside a small bar and glugged a nice bottle of wine.
Then a 10-15 minute walk back the port for the tender home. If we had got off earlier, we would probably have glugged another bottle of wine!
Not a lot to see, apart from the jousting, a very relaxing pleasant afternoon off the ship.
