Summer 2022 holiday collection

We have used our FCCs to book a June 22 Med cruise on Britannia, we do fancy an Autumn cruise as well, but will wait to see what Celebrity, Princess and RCI have on offer, and if they have nothing we will await Iona's winter itineraries, which will start in Oct/Nov 22, and probably book one of those.
We still have 3 cruises booked for 2021 and early 22 and we are hopeful these will go ahead, if not we will probably accept FCCs for the deposits, but will not be making any balance payments unless we are reasonably certain the cruise will go ahead.

Well that's fixed. Excellent work from Bolsover Cruises. We've got our first choice of a pair of Deluxe Balcony Cabins, midships, with interconnecting doors and extra bed for the children. Not bad considering that out of all the cabins Iona has there are only 6 pairs that meet our precise perfect criteria. So Fjords August 2022 here we come.

That’s fantastic Merv - I’m excited for you going with the family - if your granddaughters are anything like mine they’ll be planning what to take/what they are wearing/what they want to see from the day you tell them One tip - get them registered in the kids club as soon as you get on board especially as it’s school holidays.

Thanks for the tip. Will do. We've deliberately left it to because iun 2020 we thought they were too young (dodged that bullet) and 2021 they'll be in different age groups for rhe clubs. By 2022 they'll be in the same group.

Well that's all confirmed, and we got the cabin we wanted.

Transferred July 2021 booking over to 2022.

Bolsover called this morning. End of May 21 now transferred to June 22 and got the selected Cabin, happy days, we’ll see.

We're now waiting for Cunard to go in sale next week so we can transfer our May 21 into 2022.

We are leaving our July Britannia cruise in place, if it looks like it will still be in doubt before the balance is due, we will hopefully move it back to an Iona Canary cruise in late 2022, assuming they will be on sale by then.

I still remain hopeful that we will see some sort of normality return to the cruise industry before Sep 2021. I need to take some holidays, I have so much leave to take (and I sure as heck ain't surrendering it for the tax man to take 40%).

I still remain hopeful that we will see some sort of normality return to the cruise industry before Sep 2021. I need to take some holidays, I have so much leave to take (and I sure as heck ain't surrendering it for the tax man to take 40%).

We’re still taking holidays in 2021, just not abroad. There are so many beautiful places to go in the U.K..
We have decided that we might even try a few days up north if the restrictions come off.
We can fly Exeter to Edinburgh or Glasgow or even to Belfast, then hire a motor. Only two of us so any car will do for a few days. We are also thinking about a few days in Jersey.

That is sort of what we have been doing, but for me holidays are about somewhere hot and sunny when the weather can be almost guaranteed. Exploring the UK and Ireland is something I will happily do for a weekend.

It's OK. Fear not!! It looks like he will just be flying through. We have plans to go to Edinburgh again. There is so much to see and do in that area. We just need to be rid of this terrible disease.
Next year w have plenty of UK holidays planned - Galloway in Scotland, Derbyshire, Rosedale Abbey, Anglesey and then off to the Trossachs. It will be good just to get away.

I know I take the pi** out of the North, as some on here do the South , but there is some beautiful scenery up in them thar hills. One thing I would like to do one day, or should I say over several days is visit Scotland again, yes I was let in once, and do a tour of the whiskey distilleries

Summer 22 completed. We'd already booked Iona with the family for August, and got exactly what we wanted at the opening price having pre-registered with Bolsover and waved our Caribbean status, thus getting ahead of the riff raff.

Today it was Cunard. We had a cruise in May 2020 that we had postponed to May 2021 but we were still pondering whether to go or not, what with Covid and my recent health hiccup, the lesser part of which is still pending treatment. The Covid problem, assuming the cruise departs at all, was that the whole point of the trip was to reunite over dinner with people we met on a previous cruise. And that would not be allowed under Cunard's current rules.

However, we spotted that they currently have what they call their "Flexible Transfer Policy" which enables the shifting of a deposit to any future cruise (not just in the next 12 months) of any price (not just more expensive and with no admin fee. We also spotted a 12 night round Britain Queen Victoria cruise in May 2022 that went on sale to the general public (we are still riff raff on Cunard) at 8.30 this morning. I'd feared the elite would have snapped up the cabins we wanted before we got a look in or the fluid prices would have risen. Anyway after a few attempts to get through and 30 mins wait on the phone by 9.30 this morning the deal was done. The cabin we wanted and actually below the "from" price quoted on the website.

Well pleased.
